Belar settles down at one of the tables and puts up his usual sign:

ANSWERING PRAYERS
BACK IN 15 MINUTES

SECURITY STAFFER ON DUTY AFTER THAT

and settles back to wait as the counter decrements itself. When you can answer prayers with your eyes closed (and not just in the 'ahahahaha no' sense, either), you can pretty much answer prayers anywhere you like.

[Tinytag: Asakura Yoh]

When he opens his eyes, it'll be to a Japanese teenager (cloth-wrapped sword beside him) watching him with (very) idle curiosity.

"Mmm... pretty good," Yoh replies. "You were really answering prayers."

It's not... quite a question, although the question is implied in the slight tilt of his head.

"You're a god in two worlds? Wow! That's cool." Yoh grins. "I didn't know you could do that. Well, I didn't even know about other worlds until recently, anyway," he admits, scratching the back of his head a little. "I'm Yoh. Asakura Yoh."

"...Huh. Well, okay, I guess," Yoh replies. "So now you're a god on Earth? What part?"

[identity profile] laidback-shaman.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Congratulations!" he says, grinning again. "I think it must be almost as bad for a god to be without people as it is for a people to be without any gods or spirits to guide them," he continues.

The look on Yoh's face is nothing short of horrified.

"He lost... all of them? What happened? Couldn't anybody stop it?"

Yoh is very quiet for a long moment. Then,

"Didn't you have any good shamans in your world?"

An emaciated, androgynous individual in a brown, hooded robe (or a purple ampersand, narration has no preference) peers at the sign in surprise. When the counter has decremented, Famine says, "I did not know the gods came here."

Famine has another question, too, but that one's first on its mind.

[identity profile] hungryampersand.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't recognize you," Famine admits. "Though I've never actually seen any of the thirty-seven gods or the Creator myself. If you aren't one of the gods whom Marduk created and who has a temple on the Astral Plane, I suppose you're not one of the ones I serve."

[identity profile] hungryampersand.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Famine," Famine introduces itself. "One of the three Riders who guards the Astral Temples. My apologies for assuming you were one of the gods I knew, Belar."

[identity profile] hungryampersand.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Famine nods, pushing its hood out of its eyes a little bit. "I was going to ask, since I saw you answering prayers, if you were Lawful, Neutral, or Chaotic, but I suppose those terms only apply to gods in the creation I'm from."

[identity profile] hungryampersand.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well," Famine says, "I was mostly curious since you're also on Security. I could imagine a Chaotic god being very unfair, since they seem unfair to their worshippers, and forewarned is forearmed. Though I wouldn't have actually said that to one of them!"

[identity profile] hungryampersand.livejournal.com 2008-02-18 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"And stealing and back-stabbing, and if you do something wrong they're not very forgiving," Famine confirms. "And they steal other gods' altars."
