When Silk walks into Milliways today, he blinks. This is the only sign of surprise that he shows.
He hadn't expected to find himself here. As a matter of fact, he'd expected to find himself walking into one of his offices in Mallorea, hence the currently fine cut and materials of his soft grey clothing. Still, it's not as if Mallorea isn't waiting on the other side of the door.
Without further consideration, he approaches the bar.
"A mug of your finest ale, if you please," he asks, as he sits up on one of the stools. Really, he could use a bit of relaxation, after the week he's had; you'd think he hadn't helped to save the world - Mallorea being a part of it, naturally - several times at this point, the way certain parties have been arguing with him.
Really!

In fact, you can very easily do that, as she's over by the Bar, tapping her fingers against the wood and watching things get set up for 'tending tonight by her wonderful husband who the Bar has done nothing to today.
She spots Silk, gives him a wave, and gestures him over. Surely he couldn't refuse such a charming lady?

Why, that would be rude, and Silk has only the best of manners at all times.
"Hello, Ce'Nedra," he says, with a faint smile.

There's an edge of humor in the catch of her cheek.

Says it all, really.

"My sympathies," he expresses.

"Oh, Silk, you've no idea what she gets up to," she says. "She's like every last one of our little group, rolled into one child and only half as stoppable."
Ce'Nedra would not trade a moment of it for the world.

Ce'Nedra sounds more proud than upset. Hm.

'High maintenance' comes to mind, though of course, he would never say anything about it.

"She'll be a good Queen, when it's her time," Ce'Nedra says, after the pause in conversation that follows. "She's too clever to be anything less."

"Can't or won't, Silk?" If her words could control air temperature, Silk would have icicles hanging from his nose.
no subject
"Can't," he affirms. "I do think that when she grows up, she has the potential to be quite good."

Ce'Nedra takes a moment to decide this is an acceptable response, then nods.
"So how is the situation in Mallorea, Silk?" she asks, inclining her head towards the door Silk walked through.
no subject
"Profitable."
Need any more be said?
no subject
"Will you be staying there much longer?"

"Will you come see us in Riva when you return?"
It is a request, nothing more, and said with the all the lightness that entails.

She gives the rat-faced man a careful little smile.
Oh yes.
