Atton's getting ready to interview somebody.

In his case, this means wearing menacing looking sunglasses as he fiddles about with mechanical parts on the table. The sunglasses are interview-related, the parts not so much.

Botherable.

"Indeed, one may go so far as to say it is one," Teja says.

"I just have." Sagely.

"Deal," Teja says, gravely.

"Yes." Equally gravely.

"There is something else that I would speak to you about," Teja says.

"Go on."

"have you ever met a young woman named Chloe Sullivan?" Teja asks.

"No, haven't."

"It might be interesting if you did," Teja says, non-committally.

"Why's that?"

"If I said, it would load the dice," Teja says.

Atton's lips twitch, slightly.
"I see."

"Indeed," Teja says.

Then, he briefly grins at Atton. Yes, it is a grin -- but it takes about a tenth of a second, at the very most.

Teja gets a considerably longer grin from Atton in response.

"One shall see, then," Teja says, cryptically.

"One shall." Sagely.

"I will leave you to your gadgetry, then," Teja says.

"See you later, Tej."

Teja wanders off, secretly amused at the way Atton Rand shortens his name.

Nobody has ever done that.-
