The Kate who strode through the door was very different from her usual self. For one thing, her expression was cold, her blue eyes bright and hard. Her mannerisms as she moved, suggesting a panther in her gait. She only noted the door working to this place with an idle shrug, and doesn't know yet she was one of the people currently being sought as missing. She did scan her surroundings to seek out someone. No, he's somewhere else. And briefly her expression slipped into one of melancholy and worry, remembering that recent strange dream that she was sure she saw him. Only to lose him again.
The cold expression came up again, and her hand came up to move a chair closer with magic for sitting. Definitely something up with her.
(ooc: one time deal for bar, Kate with demon self in charge. Catch her if you can before she vanishes back into Shadows and plotty And this EP's open for a while for taggage..)

So she comes over with a smile and a pot of tea though stops at the chair moving,
"I thought you didn't have any powers?"

"Got an upgrade," she idly replied as she leveled a gaze back at the goddess.

"Excuse me, uh, was wondering if you could help.... Me."
Angel gives her a second look. Maybe not the friendly type after all.

"The Back Door."
"Uh... That is... Where is it?"
no subject
"Pretty obvious really."
no subject
"Oh."
"There."
"The, uh, Door. In the wall."
Well, that's a little embarrassing.

Guppy sees her as he comes out of the infirmary, and dashes over. But stops when she moves the chair magically.
Is it Kate? Or someone who looks like her. But she looks so like Kate...
Confused Guppy is confused, but then he moves over.
"Kate, we've all been worried sick, are you okay? Where's Will?"

"Johnny Smith said he was in a desert, near a flag, does that help?"
He still doesn't understand the cold look.
"Who gave you the upgrade? Who took you from out back to look for Will?"
no subject
"Oh that narrows it down, to any number of worlds or shadows. So no, it doesn't. And what business is it of yours who I leave with?"
no subject
"Besides, why should it be a secret? He's helping you look for Will, we also want to help you look for Will. Surely we're all on the same side here?"
He gets a portable scanner out of his bag and runs it over Kate quickly, hoping this won't result in it getting snatched away and smashed.

She added, "I'm on my side. And Will's. Don't bother with Branden. We're dealing with him." She eyed the scanner with mild scorn, but didn't do anything to it. It would only pick up something if it could pick up subtle spellwork, or anything of a demonic nature. Though the brainwave patterns might come off as being more complicated than a normal human, more chaotic and twinned.

Merlin's smile is exceptionally harmless.
He works at it.

"It all depends on the angle, right?"
Merlin might just smell a rat.
