[OOM: He's a little tired.]

"Oh," he says, looking around. "Well."

It's nothing too unusual; he's certainly no stranger to bars, and this is clearly, if nothing else, a bar. He clears his throat and straightens his tie. The constant nudge in the back of his mind is gone, and he feels more relaxed than he has in years--no one waiting, no one watching.

He might as well have some fun.

"I appreciate talent," he says, for lack of anything better to say; he's not quite sure why he clapped. "What's your name?"

The man lets himself down on his grapple-line and lands neatly on the floor in front of the newcomer. "I don't use it. I'm called the Revenant. And you?"

"Er," says Mr. Death, who's never been good at this kind of thing.

"Fair enough." The Revenant would be a bit hypocritical to insist on names, wouldn't he? "Just don't go stealing the firstborn of people who can't guess; I think Security frowns on that."

"Ah," he begins. "I, uh, really was not planning to do that."

The look on his face says it all: children? No thank you, and for more reasons than one.

(He's not a cruel man; he's just doing his job. And he doesn't like to see the young ones go any more than the next poor slob.)

Uh-huh. "Sorry, I suppose I shouldn't take anything for granted here. You from somewhere that doesn't have Grimm's Fairy Tales, then?"

"No, no, we have them," he says, "I'm just not--well, it would be feasible for me to trade, see, and I really would rather avoid it."

Oh, my. Well, at least he doesn't seek to. If he were eager to steal kiddies, they might have to have a talk.

"Trade for what? You don't spin straw into gold, do you?"

"No, not quite," he says, smiling. "I have other desirable goods."

He's used to games: the traditional chess game, perhaps, or one more cat-and-mouse than that. But this is refreshing in its simplicity.

Desirable enough to swap a firstborn? Of course, some people would... no, this guy certainly doesn't act like a pusher.
