Walking back out into the bar, Jack still feels a little shaken by everything that's happened. He takes a seat on a barstool, asking Bar for a pen and paper, and settles in to write a couple notes: one to be posted on the Security noticeboard, one to be left at the bar.

Attn: Security members

Josiah "Doc" Scurlock has been placed in the cells--partly at his own request--after a fight with Will Scarlett. Doc says that he's been possessed by some kind of demon and has been asked not to be let out of the cells, no matter what he says, until situation is dealt with. From what he said, he accepted help from Brand of Amber, at which point he was possessed with this demon. Whatever's possessing him shows very violent tendencies, so we probably shouldn't let anyone into the cell with him, either. According to Doc, Merlin of Chaos might be able to help.

To Merlin of Chaos:

I've been told by Doc Scurlock that you're the only one who might be able to help him. He's been possessed by something involving Brand of Amber, and he's had to be locked in the cells to protect himself as well as others. If you're willing to help and want into the Security office, or want more details, I should be in room 24, or leave a note for me with Bar. If I have to leave, I'll come in to check for messages often.

The man is not particularly stealthy as he comes up beside Jack at the bar, but apparently, stealthiness wasn't his intention anyway:

"You're Jack Bauer, yes?"

"Yeah, and you are?" Jack asks, maybe not as politely as he usually would. his chest still hurts where Doc punched him, and it's been a long day.

"Wesley Wyndham-Pryce," he puts out a hand. "Former Watcher, though that might not mean anything to you."

"Something of an authority on paranormal matters."

"Oh?" Jack shakes the offered hand. "NIce to meet you. Is there something you wanted?"

"Not so much something I wanted, as something for which I believe I might be of assistance."

"I'm given to understand that certain patrons haven't been acting normally."

"In this place I think you're going to have to be more specific," Jack says with a half-smile.

A low chuckle. "Quite."

"I'm not certain who are the parties concerned. My source wasn't that specific--that tends to be the way with this sort of thing--but I believe there was some sort of altercation not long ago?"

"In any case, I was told the individuals I would need to see would be in the cells."

Wesley's questions sound too vague to Jack's ears, almost like he was fishing for information. Yeah, there was an altercation and someone ended up in the cells, about twenty minutes earlier. That doesn't seem long enough for a source to have found Wesley and told him.

"Depends on your definition of 'not long ago'. What was there about this altercation that made your source think there was something paranormal about it?" Jack asks, a little suspiciously. He suddenly realizes that Wesley doesn't seem quite...solid, either.

"The fact that there were more parties involved in it than may have been apparent to the naked eye."

"I suspect at least one of them is possessed. By what or whom, I'm not entirely certain. Hence my desire to see them for myself."

And, in fact, Wesley goes almost translucent at this point, but then shifts back to solid after a second or two.

Jack still doesn't trust this guy, and doesn't want to let him into the Security Office. However, he's blanking on a good excuse as to why he can't. And as long as Baby's securing each cell from within and without... Besides, at the moment, he wants to see if there's a file on Wesley.

"Fine, though you won't be able to get inside the cells at all."

"Thank you. That shouldn't be necessary. I should be able to learn everything I need from a discreet distance."

Wesley has no trouble projecting confidence at this point, though that has more to do with the removal of the last obstacle keeping him from his goal than any expectation that he might be able to resolve the problem in any way close to how Jack would want it handled.

Merlin doesn't get the note for a couple of days, but on his first bellyup to the bar (while taking a break from concerns in his own world), he does recieve the news.

And then pens a note of his own.

Mr Bauer,

I am available for discussion and possible aid at your earliest convience. My room number is 98, and I'm not too hard to find.
