The door isn't back yet, but that isn't a bad thing for the teenager who has taken over a table near the bar. Not a bad thing at all. Neither is the fact that most of his injuries and bruises have faded from their ugly purples and reds to just faint greens and yellows.

There is a piece of paper (with names on it) tucked into his vest pocket. He's kicked back in his chair, feet propped up on the chair across, and he's occasionally drinking from the bottle of ale he managed to swipe off someone's table when he came downstairs. They're not missing it, so there's no harm in it, in his eyes.

He's got a look in his eyes like he's in the middle of coming up with a really great (or really dangerous and exciting) idea, and a smug little smile on his face as he watches the room. He is looking for marks, but, he's always doing that. And tonight, there are more important things to think about.

Like how to swipe another ale.

"Slow's good, means nothin' goin' on that'll get people in trouble."

"Yeah." Pause. "It does get boring, but boring beats the alternative."

One that he's had too much experience with.

"What've you been doing for the last year?"

"Swoop racin', mostly. Competition."

Playing cards, getting caught cheating and forced to fight gladiator style as punishment against a bunch of different races, and kicking all their asses.

"Swoop racing? What's that?"

"Like...you got a bike sorta thing, with big engines on the front, steer with handlebars, they fly. We got circuits an' tracks, s'good money."

What little of it he sees.

"Sounds like...oh, what was that called?"

You know, in Episode I?

"...podracing, that's it!"

"Podracing is older. Swoops are a little less dangerous because the engines are actually on the bike, rather than attached with the cables and stuff."

But hey, he knows what it is!

Glance over his shoulder briefly. "Sounds exciting."

As if there's someone who shouldn't see him grinning and calling something exciting.

A glance that follows.

"It is. They're fast as hell."

"Unfortunately, I can't say I've ever done anything quite like that, though there was this...game...we used to play in a zero-gravity room at my old school..."

"Oh yeah?"

He's interested.

"Yeah. Mock battles. We had toy guns and these suits that would freeze up if you were 'hit'. It was...intense."

"That sounds pretty cool."

The idea of school, period, sounds cool.

Bonzo sighs. "Yeah, it was. There were downsides to Battle School, though..." Some stuff he'd rather not get into.

"I think you get that with anythin' you go to," he offers.

"That's certainly true..." Bonzo smirks. Every job he's tried, everything he's done, has had messy downsides. "Guess you just gotta pick which downsides you prefer."
