People who know Makita will recognize that look on her face. Of course the stack of weaponry spread out across her usual table might also be something of a hint.

There's currently an RKG-41 broken down on the table and she's running a wire brush around the inside of the firing chamber. Her movements are precise, but she looks ever so slightly distracted.

Time to go home.

"Armor's too slow," Makita complains. "In Bahamut it's mostly just a big metal target."

"Mammoths are slow, true, but with the machinegun turrets and missile launchers, they are mobile artillery platforms, not normal tanks. And they are never alone to be targets, there is always a platoon or two of infantry moving along." Tanya makes a face. "But the Soviets have speed too, with their MiG jets. Ah well."

"I think I'll stick with what I've got," Makita shrugs easily.

"Oh, I could not get one for you anyway... Way too big to bring across the door." She grins a bit.

Makita snickers, "Yeah, that could be a problem."

"So..." Tanya gets serious again. "You are going back soon."

Tanya would be lieing if she did not say she felt like not going back a few times.

"Yeah. People to kill, family to see."

What was left of it, anyway.

"I have only people to kill." Tanya looks at the door, shaking head.

Makita frowns at that. "What about here?" No family here either?

"A couple friends. My girlfriend vanished months ago, back home my family hates me because I prefer girls, and..." Tanya shrugs. "Just the war."

"Sucks," Makita says eloquently.

"A lot." She keeps fighting now out of a sense of duty. Tanya has really nobody to fight for.

"You need help back at your Earth?"

A slight grin flits across Makita's face, "Not this time. Got a few people to kill, but... mostly I'm going to spend time with Proto."

She blushes ever so slightly at the name.

Tanya blushes too, nodding.

She can not help it but feel a bit jealous.

Of Proto, but still, jealous. It seems every one but her has somebody. "I see."

She nods. "Sounds good." That if Tanya is still alive, right? But no need to mention it now.
