People who know Makita will recognize that look on her face. Of course the stack of weaponry spread out across her usual table might also be something of a hint.

There's currently an RKG-41 broken down on the table and she's running a wire brush around the inside of the firing chamber. Her movements are precise, but she looks ever so slightly distracted.

Time to go home.

That incites a little snerk from Goldy.

"If by lucky you mean five times in one night. Otherwise, I think I've got things covered."

Makita's blush is hot enough to heat a small room by now, but she manages a superior smirk. "Only five? That's just too bad."

"Though I suppose that means you really can't come back with me. You might try to steal my Proto." She's joking. Mostly.

Goldy lets out a loud snort, which conveniently works as a response to both of Makita's comments.

"No offense. But unless you're into much older men, I think he's probably a little below my age limit."

Not, perhaps, the most reassuring of reasons. But it's still valid!

"Well, that's reassuring I suppose," she grins. "So I'm heading back for a bit, what're you going to do to keep busy while I'm gone? Beyond the obvious."

"Heh. Actually, if K gets my application approved, I'm going to start work as a part-time MiB Agent. My duties will include policing alien lifeforms, kicking extra-terrestrial ass, and annoying Zed."

"Um... congratulations?" Makita doesn't really know what all that entails, but Goldy seems enthused.

"Kicking ass and annoying people sounds right up your alley."

"Exactly!" Goldy states. "It's like the position was custom-made for me."

She finally takes a sip from her cocktail.

"Hopefully I'll have plenty of stories to regale you with when you next come back here."

"How often do things just work out like that for you? I mean... is it part of the whole story thing? Happily ever after and all that?"

Goldy gives Makita an odd look.

"Errr... you call the whole unwanted daughter thing a happily ever after? If you recall, my story didn't end with one of those. The bears woke me up and scared me off into the woods again. So, no. It's got nothing to do with the Fable thing. And bad turns happen to me just as much as good ones."

"If you say so," Makita says somewhat doubtfully. She still has difficulty recognizing that other peoples' problems can be just as bad, if not worse, than her own.

Goldy gives Makita a consolatory pat on the shoulder.

"I do."

"Now, is there anything I can help with before you go? Weapons, ammo, food supplies?"

Makita ducks her head slightly. "Um..." she begins hesitantly, "Could... you give me another haircut?" For Proto.

"Of course!" the Fable laughs.

"Don't worry. That's a given. I wasn't about to let you leave here without an appointment at Goldy's Beauty Salon."

That elicits a somewhat sheepish grin. "Thanks." She sits silently for a moment before adding, "I'm not... used to feeling pretty." There's not really time for it back home, after all.

Goldy looks slightly sad for the girl.

"Well you'd better get used to it," she says. "Because you're gorgeous. I'll give you some pointers on how you can emphasize it more on a daily basis, even when you have little to no resources at hand."

Makita grins up at the fable, "Thanks, Goldy."
