"Looking for Writers..."

Christian has composed a note, which he posts on the board in the bar. He hopes Nick will find this satisfactory.

It reads as follows:


To Anyone Interested in Writing ~

There are two writers here who would like to meet with other creative people to discuss writing and probably all manner of other things.

Are there any writers - or people who are interested in writing - who would like to join us? 

Please leave a note here or you can reach Christian in Room # 123 or just stop me if you see me around.

P.S. Since most don't know who I am: I am of average height and build, I would say, with dark hair and blue eyes. I am usually wearing shirt, trousers and suspenders. I am frequently writing in a notebook or at my typewriter. I'm also likely to have a drink beside me. Thank you.


He sighs and decides to acquire a Scotch before he leaves the bar.

Christian reads the note and replies, in a neat script:

Of course there is room for you, sir. The more the merrier! I will post here when we have a better concept of the size of the group and where we should meet. Any suggestions are welcome.

Christian sees another note and is delighted to find it's from his friend, Will. He writes back, as neatly as possible:

Will, that would be wonderful! I shall post here when we know more. Any suggestions for where to meet?

Francesca is provided with a helpful translation of the notice by Bar, who clearly thinks she might be interested.

She writes out a reply on a roll of paper:

Signor Christian,
I will be delighted to join your circle. I will look out for you.

Christian pulls gingerly on the roll of paper until it has unfolded completely. He raises his eyebrows slightly at the 'Signor' part and smiles as he writes a note back, though he doesn't know if she is a 'Signora' or a 'Signorita':

Signorita Bruni,

I am delighted you wish to join our fledgling group. I look forward to meeting you. Once we have a meeting place and a date, I will post in here. In the meanwhile, please feel free to speak with me, should you see me.
