Teja has been working in the forge most of the day, making swords for Catalina Erantzo.
It has been hot and thirsty work, and Teja feels the need to cool down seriously.
That is why he is swimming in the lake, in a little secluded bay near the forge. Most of his clothes are hidden among the rushes, and he's keeping an eye out for passers-by that might look at him.
Both forge-cats are sitting by the shore, though, staring at their human. Who is in the water. Voluntarily. He must be mad!

In any case, though, as part of his course in that direction, he's starting to walk right past the aforementioned, secluded bay.

'Mrrr?'

There are, alas, a lot of cats in Momiji's life. They tend to show up in droves whenever his cousin Kyo is around. So, he doesn't recognize this particular tabby as one of the cats that was less than happy with him, not too long ago. As such, his box ends up deposited in the grass for the moment, as he bends down, scritching at the animal.
"What're you up to?"

'Mrrrr!' she says, by way of complaining that her human is stark! staring! raving! mad!!
In the water!
Cat's don't bear grudges, and get their scritches where they can.

"Hey, someone's swimming."
Between the sun and the water, he can't make out who it is, from here.

It's her human! Who is crazy!
Between the sun and the water, there is wet dark hair and broad strong shoulders, the latter of which probably tells Momiji the swimmer is a man.

"Yeah, I guess swimming's not something you'd like, huh?" The blonde boy laughs, flopping down in the grass next to the his package. One hand remains devoted to scritching as the other fools with the bow on the thing.

His human is crazy, but that doesn't mean Ferdinand has to stare and watch him do it.
So the white cat with the very typical grey spots wanders over to Momiji and Kitty to get some of the attention.
Yes, he did get wet when Momiji threw the water balloons, but unless it's something really bad, cats don't bear grudges.

The combination of the two of them does seem rather familiar, but not enough to jog any clear memories. Not when there is dual petting in demand, at least!
"You're both just hanging around the lake?"
no subject
Kitty, at the meanwhile, turns to look at her crazed human in the lake.

Onwards!

Water!! There is nasty water in there! Ferdinand yowls loudly in warning.
The man swimming in the lake stops, and turns to see what the cat's problem is.
no subject
The Goth might, though, as, with the distance between them decreasing, Momiji has recognized him.
"Hi, Teja!"

Humans get like this. It's normal for them to sometimes be a little crazy, so don't worry, he consoles the two cats, reaching down to render scritches unto them.

Our human is in the WATER!!
no subject
He'll come 'round, eventually. Humans are a bit weird, sometimes.

After a while, Teja turns, notices, and waves from the water.

"How's the water?" he calls.
no subject
Ferdinand mewls in complaint.

"We are all different," he says, "and I like it -- hot water most of the year, but cold water when it is hot outside!"
no subject
"I will admit that it is good for making food and some drinks, however." Just not by itself. Ugh.
no subject
"I hear," he says, pondering, "even Atlantean contains a little of it!"
