Mel has a Security badge.

It's not the one pinned to her belt, though that's there too. This one is newer, and shiner than that one: straighter, not rusting, and catches the light as she flips it across her fingers and back again. It's Lan's.

At least Raph is back. Otherwise she'd be really annoyed at everyone leaving.

"Mmmmmm."

One of Steph's rashers of bacon pierces the yolk of one of Steph's eggs on the way to Mel's mouth.

"Raph's back."

Good thing, bad thing? You decide.

Either. Raph wasn't very talky, really.

"He could move in with Indy," Steph suggests brightly, "and Kita and I can just watch the carnage."

"Kita moving in with you?"

Mel approves of that.

"Don't wreck the place."

"Hope so," Steph says, cheerfully. "She won't smell as bad as you."

"...plus, she could use some looking after, I think."

"Yeah," Mel confirms to both.

"I'm thinking fieldtrip."

"Oooh." Steph grins. "I like field trips. Where'll we take her?"

"No clue," Mel says. "Haddyn's ruttin' awful this time a' year. Goldy got a door?"

"... I have no idea. She probably does. Or is sleeping with someone who does." Steph considers it. "I should ask her."

"Or maybe Knox's world," Mel continues. "He's fond of our girl, right?"

"Everyone loves Kita," Steph agrees, and looks thoughtful. "Knox's world could be fun. It's weird -- almost-but-not my world -- I reckon we'd have heaps of fun."

"Does it have a Batman?" Mel says quickly.

That grin can't be a good thing.

Steph eyes her suspiciously.

"Yep. Knox is an expert -- as much as a reporter can be. Whatcha planning?"

"I'm not planning anything!" Mel says brightly.

"Just... be nice to finally meet him."

Steph continues to Eye her.

"Really?"

"Really?"

MEL IS TOTALLY INNOCENT HERE.

(She needs to make up a plan)

Steph giggles. "Okay. I wanna watch."

"OK," Mel says, beaming. "He come after theives much?"

"Yeah, 'course he ..." Steph trails off.

Then she looks at Mel.

"... no way."

"And then Kita could kick him in the knees," Mel explains, forgetting to explain the rest of the plan.

It's okay, Steph got the gist.

"Oh my God, that would be hilarious! Don't tell Knox, he'll say no."

Mel grins at her.

"You'd think I've never lied to the laws fore."

"Knox isn't laws," Steph says, grinning now. "And you're a terrible liar. Aw, man, how soon can we do this? Best idea ever!"

"I'm the best at spin," Mel protests, badly.

"We'll just need to check with Knox, I guess."

Steph beams.

"Best idea ever. I can't wait to tell 'Kit."

Mel beams.

"Hope she likes it."
