Finn's sitting at a table (pick a table, any table) with his sketchbook laying forgotten to the side, sleeves of his collared shirt still rolled up from working outside. Why, you would ask, is his ever-present sketchbook forgotten?
Well, that'd probably be why he's leaning forward (occasionally readjusting his sword as it catches in the chair legs) and biting his lip, too. Jenga is harder to play by yourself than it looks.
Feel free to pitch in--he has a sheet of instructions next to him.

The sight of the game makes her want to walk over and say hello. She's a whiz at Jenga. She and her little brother play all the time, even though Sam usually manages to knock it down in about three moves.
The sword? Makes her think she should keep her distance. In Anastasia's world, teenage boys who carry blades tend to be gang members.
They usually carry switchblades instead of swords. But still.
The two conflicting impulses add up to one very indecisive looking twelve-year-old girl, hovering several feet from the table.

Finn blinks up at her, after a moment, and smiles uncertainly. He doesn't look like a gang member. "Hi."

Anastasia's smile is equally uncertain, and she pushes her glasses back up the bridge of her nose more out of habit than necessity.
"Hi," she replies.
no subject
Finn blinks at her, uncertain of exactly the thread of conversational habit he's supposed to follow here. "Did--you want to play? I've never, um, done this before."
no subject
"Sure. I mean, Jenga's fun. I play it a lot at home."
"Just....what's with the sword?" she asks.
Sometimes it's easier to just ask up front.

It takes a bit of balancing on one of the chair legs (not the one with the sharp objects, mind you, cause ow) but it's interesting to be taller than people for a change. Even if it is a brief, cheating sort of change.
Curious, "It is a tower?"

Finn startles very slightly, thankfully having already removed the most recent piece (still, the be-gapped tower rocks a bit, and resettles). "It's a game," he tells her, with a bemused glance over at his shoulder. "You make the tower out of these blocks and--then you try to take them back out? Without it falling."
no subject
She smiles brightly back and him before narrowing her eyes on the odd little building in the middle of the table, one set of fingers ruffling his hair absently.
"So it is like making a tower backwards?"

"Very well," she chirps, then wrinkles her nose up a bit. "Though I have learned that Cerberus should not be allowed near alcohol - or near the Lady Demeter when she has had alcohol."
Gods are weird.
A slight shake of her head, "And how have you been? Well, I hope?"

Beat.
Beat.
"You are not building anything useful?"

X tilts her head, studying the setup.
"I do not understand."
no subject
He shrugs. "You're supposed to play with more people--so the person who's turn it falls on loses. But I'm not."
no subject
X moves a step forward. Carefully.
"It is not useful?"

"It looks a bit pivotal. Try the one up and to the left."
no subject
He grins over at him. "Thanks!"
no subject
. . . all right, so he wasn't so much involved in the design process, but you learn a lot hauling bricks, too!
"Anytime," he says, with an answering grin. If you want unwanted advice, Jamie's your man. "How've you been?"
no subject
Finn nods to a seat at the table, with a half-smile.

"Not bored," he says frankly, "I'll tell you. We've been moving about a million miles a minute for the past little while, so it's good to have the break."
He glances over at the back door. "I wouldn't have thought you'd be bored while there were still things left to do on that ship."

When the baby beams at him? There are a few teeth involved.
"She'd say hi, but right now, her most complex word is 'ba.' "

Ianna may be getting big, but Plourr's got guns that belong on a Star Destroyer; she could carry her all day. It's not much of an excuse to hand the baby off, but it's an excuse.
Plourr has never been accused of being a particularly subtle humanoid.
