Laini is one of those people that work better with distractions, and since her other option of turning the music up in her room as loud as it would go would be rather rude to her neighbors- She will go with her first option of working down in the bar.
Thus, the immediate airspace above one table is full of holographic displays, each 'screen' in a different language and groups organized by text color. In a vague way it makes sense-
Hopefully to the one working on it, particularly.

"Oh?"

She pivots her chair around to face Max, folding her hands in her lap.
"So, distract me."
no subject
"The sun, moon, and stars. Not to mention the oceans and rivers and valleys."
Boy does he look smug.

Laini is, for once, mostly speechless.
"Wow."
no subject
Yeah... totally worth it for that reaction.

"Y-You're sure about this? I mean, for me?"

He raises the necklace toward her and pauses as if to ask permission.

Grinning, she stands up and tilts her head back.

"Well, then. Should we find a nice, private place for me to model the necklace for you?"
With the necklace being the only thing Laini will be wearing, that is. Ahem.

"Besides, I've learned never to say 'no' to a beautiful lady."

"Last I heard, there were some lovely secluded spots on the lakeshore that might suit our purpose?"

But it may be doubtful if either Laini or Max has seen the new 'garden' recently added outside.
Or heard about some of the new denizens.
Of course, they may not notice either for some time as they make their way out the back door and start past some of the out-buildings on their way to the lake.

Which is why he doesn't notice the redecorating until they've walked quite a ways and he's managed to find a vine with his foot and trip, pulling her to the ground.

Just totally Not like this.
"I didn't think we were- oof." She mutters, picking herself up. "Quite really there..."
One of Laini's ears flatten, and she reaches up to pull a couple leaves out from her hair.
"I don't think I recall this."
no subject
"I'm thinking this plan may not have been the best one," he admits ruefully.

Laini waves her hand, and a couple of will-o-whisps appear over head as she eyes the jungle.
"Someone got a bit too happy with the Miracle-Gro, I think."

No, she is Not Grinning. Not at all.
"Back to the bar sounds likes a lovely idea. So does a bath."
no subject
And scoops up a big handful of mud which he oh-so-helpfully plops down in Laini's hair.
no subject
"I don't need that much more convincing to take a bath, really."
no subject
"Besides, it'll be fun to get out."
no subject
"Out of what? This jungle or our clothes?"

The skirt and blouse she had been wearing are now a silver jumpsuit.
"Well. Shapeshifter. Technically I'm not really wearing anything..."
no subject
"That takes some of the fun out of it." His grin becomes a leer, "And, I imagine, adds some fun of its own."
no subject
The Kitsune Sutra is certainly proof of that.
no subject
"And next time? Remind me to look outside before walking out here." Even when the distraction is enticing as this one.

That sounds like something that might be worth exploring... some other time.
