Guppy is stretched out on a sofa, reading.

He has hot chocolate and marshmallows, which can be shared.

"Hello," Scorpius greets pleasantly as he sets up on the next sofa over with his own reading.

His book, which starts off as a small pocket-sized volume, immediately expands to a larger, heavier tome upon his opening it. He flips to an already marked page.

"Hi there." Guppy smiles, then looks impressed at the expanding book. "Nice trick. Would you like a marshmallow?"

"It's Charmed," Scorpius explains about the book before glancing over and eying the marshmallows. He shrugs. "Yes, alright, thank you."

"Must save weight and storage space." Guppy says approvingly. "Did you do it yourself?"

"Oh, it saves loads of space! 'Cept you probably wouldn't want to put it in an ever-expanding bag unless you want to have to Accio it out..." Scorpius trails off, frowning and shaking his head at the thought. "And no, it came ready-Charmed at the shop."

"Ah, it would be silly of me to ask if you were from a magic-using world then."

Scorpius grins. "Probably, but there's loads of Muggles - er, non-magic users - on my world as well. They don't really know about us. They've their theories, but we tend to Obliviate and Confund them."

"Now there's a term I recognise." Guppy looks at the kid for possible family resemblences. And has a vague recollection of another blonde wizard boy, who needed a tetanus or something and had to be told to stop being such a wuss...

"You related to Draco by any chance?"

"He's my father," Scorpius says warily, wondering just how many people know his dad around this place.

His father seems to know a lot of people, at any rate. Which is...really no different than home, he supposes. Malfoys are just known.

"Except, not the Draco from here. Because Mia's not my mum and it's...it's confusing. I'm Scorpius."

Handwave. "Milliways is complicated, don't worry I won't say anything. Nice to meet you Scorpius, I'm Guppy."

He offers the kid a hand.

He shakes the offered hand before glancing at Guppy's own reading material. "What's that you're reading?" he asks, curious.

"It's a parenting manual. I'm getting used to the idea of becoming a dad."

Well, that solves the question of whether or not Scorpius will be looking up the title any time soon. He'll certainly not be needing to read such yet. Not until a few bajillion years or so have passed and he's old.

"Oh, I've seen those at Flourish & Blott's." He specifically remembers one entitled How To Let Your House-Elf Raise Your Child. Mother had scoffed at it when he'd pointed it out. "Congratulations."

"Thank you." Guppy smiles. "It's not for a few months, I'm just being prepared."

He puts the book down. "Are you a Hogwarts student?"

"Better than being unprepared," Scorpius agrees. He's pretty certain it'd be like going into the OWLs or the NEWTs and not having studied otherwise. "And I am. I'm in my second year there. Or, well, will be. I've still got a week of the summer hols yet."

"It's always sounded a fun place to be." Guppy says. "I've met a few people around here who went or go there."

"Really? I've only met Dad and a Mr Tom."

Scorpius'll have to look around the place some more. Maybe there's someone about from his year? That'd be interesting.

"Yeah, at least two if not three, including your dad."
