The Watcher was still Bound again. And he had trouble sleeping.
So he was down in the bar, having some tea, and trying to read.
Get his mind off current problems, but having little success so far.
Most distractions would be appreciated.

He woke up this morning predictably disoriented in a strange bed, in a strange room. There may have been screaming. It took him thirteen minutes to remember why he was not in his own house, why he was still wearing his uniform, and why he had not taken off his shoes.

The Mouthbreather is a little afraid of the dark.

By 8:16 a.m., he was officially late for school. Officially skipping school. And that was kind of thrilling. Alec has never skipped a class before, much less a whole day. What would he do?

Congratulations may be in order.

By 2:15 p.m., he has officially skipped a whole day of school. He's surprised to find it doesn't really bother him.

But what does bother him is the fact that by 2:30 p.m., he is officially missing work. No call, no show. That's less of a reason for celebration.

The Mouthbreather sulks at a table with his head in his hands.

No call, no show.

He's so fired.

Last night, when she'd found that the door really didn't like her very much, Bella had hung around for a while and eventually ended up falling asleep in a booth in the main bar.

... Which is where she still is, also still mostly asleep, looking groggy and still sort of confused.

But she remembers, now.

Not in Forks.

Stuck in a bar.

(A bar, and she wouldn't even be eighteen for about seven months, let alone twenty-one.)

Still looking tired, Bella tries to stand – nope, dizzy – and ends up simply curled up in the booth again, wrapped in her jacket.

Watching things, and wondering if there's really anything interesting to watch.

She was in the bar tonight, and dressed in modern clothes for a change. Just past the new moon now, a quieter time. Drinking some hot spiced apple cider with a slight smile. Her favorite of her hounds laid sprawled across her feet, slumbering. Artemis quietly watched the people in the bar.

Nathan sits in the bar today, scribbling at a list, and eying it. He has eschewed his normal high tech methods for the much more solid and satisfying method of writing things today.

By the dark looks he gives the several torn up and balled up sheets of paper on the table, it isn't going well.

But even so, his mood is mostly up, and he would be all too glad of an interruption, by new stranger or old acquaintance.

Ray's been in his world for a bit, dealing with a couple of busts and a lot of research. He's also tried making a phone call to his sister in the hopes that she might've cooled off by now.

Judging by his expression as he comes into the Bar in search of lunch, this is not the case. He's looked happier when he's had smoke coming out of his jumpsuit.

Wells was raised to have considerable respect for women and girls and generally treat them with better manners than he would use with men. This is all well and good, but it really doesn't apply at the place where he's got his new job. Student is a term that makes no gender distinction, to his way of thinking.

Which is a fancy and somewhat obscure way of explaining why he doesn't need to go out back for exercise or beating up on the heavy bag today. THat's all been dealt with. Far as he's concerned it's time for supper now.

Millitimed to about a day or so ago...

Angela stops at the bar after her talk with Melou to write a quick note. "Bar, will you please make sure that Malcolm Crowe gets this note, please?"

ExpandNote for Malcolm Crowe )

Her task finished, she goes out of the door, closing it behind her.

[ooc: please don't tag the post, Angela's out of the bar now.]

How long has it been since Arithon was seen thus? Semi-slouched in a chair so that the fourteen stringed lyranthe is balanced best for one hand to hold in those moments where he removes his other to send ink across paper in hand-drawn bars and musical notation? Since the voice of his lady-love sang out to the ears of his Lady seeking the phrase that will cause others to see her?

Too long. Far too long. Ama'idan, Milliways. He's here now.

Morwen is in the bar today; there's some sort of argument among the cats that she doesn't feel like mediating just yet, but until she does, working at home will be next to impossible.
So meanwhile, she's at a table, working on a list.

The doorknob moved when the Brigadier tried it this morning. He didn't open the door just then- it was enough to know that a return was possible. First things first. Namely, breakfast (one can't face an unknown situation like what was supposedly unfolding in Devil's End on an empty stomach), and a spot of exercise outdoors. That ought to be quite enough to bring him back up to speed before returning.
[identity profile] unwraith.livejournal.com
A much better day, so far. Michael's earlier injuries are(mostly)healed. He comes downstairs from 175 to take a seat where he can see the Observation Window. That never gets old, far as he's concerned.
Light breakfast. He's got tea, some sort of hot cereal, and a printout of information on the star systems in the Pegasus Galaxy.
He doesn't look for the front door. Whether or not it's open for him, he's not going anywhere until certain matters are settled. Nor will he be chased away.
That was one decision he'd come to, privately, that night after his meeting with
Suzi. But he's to do some thinking about what to do if and when he leaves.

He can still work as a soldier, but few organizations, hiring mercenaries or not,
would accept a Wraith for that sort of thing. It's one option to consider, though.
Among less...traditional possibilities.

He does, however, mean to stay OUT of the Bar's main area after midnight tonight.
After Halloween, he isn't risking another Terran holiday and any surprises.

Until then, company's welcome, familiar or not.

A couple days ago Suzi and Whistler had a conversation about children. Specifically about children in hospitals, and the need for toys and things to distract them. This is why she's not sitting around with her sign up, or with the things for commissions. She's been working on those all day. No, currently she's curled up in a chair doing something a little different.

A pattern for this is propped up where she can see it, and three sets of knitting needles are clicking and clacking as she works on several of the toys.

Not only evil knits, after all.

He's humming a song, soft and lyrical, smiling to himself.

This is because it's a dirty bar-tune he's picked up from France. The sort with the innuendos that are anything but subtle and the shouting and laughing.

Speaking of which, Jack's back from France, looking slightly sunburned and with messy hair and dirt under his fingernails.

Ash is on Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner Duty tonight. He's currently staked out a table adjacent to the fireplace, where he's attempting to interest the baby in the culinary wonder that is Mashed Green Stuff a la Gerber.

Jay, for his part, seems to be more interested in playing with his toes.

There is an a bitter assassin droid in the bar, creepily standing at a table tucked in some out of the way corner. Passing the time watching the random meatbags making small talk.

botherable
[identity profile] prototype-karr.livejournal.com
KARR looks as bored as a car can look. It's not exactly an easy thing to express, given his lack of facial features, but the dull color of his scanner and its sluggish movement give it away-he's bored. The AI sits in his favorite spot near the backdoor, watching the crowd with a detatched sort of interest. He certainly wouldn't mind company-it would give him someone to talk to, after all.

The doctor is in

Guppy is by the fire, dusting sprinkles of pink glitter out of his hair (suspected carbon monoxide leak at six-year-old's fairy princess birthday party).

The stuff just gets everywhere...

Shufti's already totally fed up with the bruise.

Having a lamp fall on your head leaves a very difficult mark to disguise. She's tried combing her hair over it (doesn't cover), putting a hat over it (too painful) and now applying foundation to it (which was also pretty painful).

That said, she's sitting in a corner with a very slightly covered up large purple bruise across her forehead. Jack is sitting on her knee, and occasionally reaching up to prod the bruise and its powdery covering, noticing that it makes her pull a funny face. Well it's more of a wince really.

This? This is the picture of woe and despair. Ears drooping, tails sagging, Laini sighs again, looking at the display on her hand-held mini-comp.

Wouldn't you know, one of the coolest things on ThinkGeek is sold out?

And yes, she really, really, REALLY needs a new swiss army knife. Specially one with 85 different tools on it. Eighty-five.

Woe, alack and alas.

Though hopefully not for long. There should be someone out there she can arranged to get whacked so she can get one of these. But for now, she orders another triple tall raspberry mocha to drown her sorrows in.
