Bialar has discovered the outside is more than just a panorama that's easy on the eyes. That it actually exists and he can actually go out.
So he has done and he's now sitting at the edge of the lake. Still in his uniform because it's a little bit of reality to hang on to - he doesn't know if he can get back... or where 'back' actually is - his surviving the Starburst wasn't something he expected.
The lake is quiet and still - perfect for beingmelancholy reflective.
He is remembering skimming stones as a child (lake stones boy - it's a universal language) To the casual observer it might seem he's planning on reliving his childhood, what with his hand clenched around something, only it's not a stone.
[OCC: Feel free to bother him. He'd appreciate having his mind taken off how quiet it is in his head *worries*]

Really, swimming in autumn in a scottish lake is great fun. If you are not bothered by cold or heat.

The day seems mild to him, though the lack of other people in the lake suggests it might be normally considered an odd activity. For the moment he's distracted (you said pretty...)
"How is the water?"

"I am... fine," he says slowly. "And yes, I am newly... arrived."

"Is that a name?"

"I should not, not be surprised that you are here," he greets.

But if anyone has answers...
"Where am I? Am I... dead?"
no subject
"What do you last remember?"
no subject
He pulls his mind away from that particular recollection with a visible shudder.

"Are you sure? I do not feel dead."
Surely if he was dead the loss of Talyn wouldn't hurt so much.

"This place... it can bring people from different times as well as places? Why? What is the purpose of doing such a thing?"

Thus she is very surprised when, while taking a walk by the lake after finishing some work in her garden, she almost stumbles upon Bialar Crais.
The last time they met was on the Diagnosan's planet where Aeryn died (and came back - it was all rather complicated). He'd been an ally then, and Zhaan knew from Crichton and Stark's account what he'd done since...but not long before that, he had been a dangerous and relentless enemy. And before that, Zhaan's jailer and Moya's slavemaster. Needless to say, at the time, Zhaan did not entirely trust him.
She still doesn't, and now that they've run into each other, she's not sure how to react.

He can see the uncertainty on her face, and something he suspects is mistrust. He really doesn't blame her for either.
"Zhaan," he greets softly.

"I don't think anyone first comes here intentionally," she says, somewhat apologetic.

"Have you been here long?"
