When Teyla walks into the bar this morning--not where she'd expected to be but not (after checking to make sure she's not Bound again) an entirely unpleasant surprise--she's glowing. In that way that women tend to glow about nine months before they start losing an awful lot of sleep.

She gets a breakfast of fruit, pastries and tea from the bar and settles herself by the fire, cross-legged in a chair.

Ianto has coffee!

Thus, he is happy.

"Good morning, Teyla!"

"Good morning, Ianto," Teyla says, smiling up at him.

"Or afternoon. I can never tell here. It often seem to be about five o'clock no matter what." He leans back in an armchair and sips his coffee.

Teyla laughs softly. "I suspect that may be true. And why should it not, in a place where people from all times come together?"

"Ah, but." He holds up a finger and tries to look wise. The boyishness of his face doesn't help. "Does every culture have a happy hour or is that strictly an Earthly invention?"

She laughs again. "I have never heard it called a happy hour, but every culture I have come across has had a need to relax after a hard day's work."

"Happy hour is usually when the drinks are on special at the bar. I have no idea why it's called that, though. Because alcohol makes you happy?" He frowns a bit. "Even though it's a depressant."

"Because they are happy to be finished with their day," Teyla says with the air of someone who Knows Things.

"That is a very good suggestion. I approve."

"Thank you, Ianto. I live for your approval." There's a teasing smile to accompany this statement.

"I know," Ianto says comfortably. "I am the standard to which all others aspire."

"There are far worse standards to which one could aspire, I am sure."

"Hello, Teyla." There is a Jim soon sitting in the chair opposite her.

"Hello, Jim!" Teyla says, smiling brightly at him. "I had been hoping to see you today."

"It's always nice to be welcomed." He smiles back, having adjusted (more or less) to the idea of simple friendship with Teyla. "How are things going?"

She takes a deep breath and lets it out as she contemplates her answer. "Not as well as I had hoped they would be, but I have received good news about my people."

"That's great. I think." He suspects things are going to be very complicated.

"They are alive," Teyla says with almost palpable relief.

"Where are they? Who took them?" The questions jump free almost before he can stop to think.

Teyla shakes her head. "I do not know. I have no other information than this, but...it is better than nothing."

"Oh." Yes. Complicated. "How do you know they're alive then?"

Teyla hesitates. In none of their conversations have they discussed anything that would allow her to gauge how he is likely to react to what she has to say.

"There was a man...Davos. He was rumored to be a seer. He told me that they are alive, but shrouded in darkness."

"A seer...you mean a psychic?" Jim can accept psychics. He's not sure, though, about people calling themselves seers and using terms like "shrouded in darkness." Not that he'll dash her hopes, of course.

"He was...not quite a psychic," Teyla says, pondering this. Rodney had used the same word at first, but it doesn't quite capture Davos's abilities.

"He saw the future. In visions that he could share." She understands his skepticism. "He shared some of these visions with my team, and with myself as well, and many of them have already come to pass."
