TOGA PARTY

Melpomene can't be much more Greek... but it's been a while since she wore a toga. As such, she looks down in surprise, and then emits a sigh. Not only does she have the toga, but the bar has also seen fit to tie the traditional tragic mask and knife to her belt.

A few minutes later, you can find her over in a booth, sipping tequila quite anachronologically.

The Devil saunters in, smiling brightly: things have been good for her lately, so good she does not mind at all being put into an egyptian-like silk dress and matching make-up and jewelery. Red, of course.

Lets be fair there: she looks great, even more relaxing near the fireplace with grapes and mead.

Jordan Kennedy is less than amused when her overalls are whisked away to make room for a stola, but hey: the change included full cleanup from a day at the workshop, and the garment actually fits right. She can live with skirt-like coverage.

The cybernetic arm stays as it is, perhaps because the Fates know she would react poorly to being refitted with a clanky old mechanical thing. The contrast is interesting, to say the least. If she can talk Bar into giving her a cup of wine, her mood will improve considerably.

Ryu Hayabusa is used to Milliways, enough so he is not startled to be moved from normal street clothes into a toga.

He looks damn good in it, and moves on to the counter to get a drink.

Okay, now, that's annoying.

Ivy just wanted a draft before going back to the church, but what does she get instead?  A long, Roman-style dress.  Just what every bounty hunter/ass kicker wants to be bogged down in.

Can someone help her figure out she's not getting her clothes back?

Slows are in effect, but every tag will be answered tomorrow with much enthusiasm and <3s

[ "so i guess i should leave a note for demeter?" ]

After Kate responds to Demeter's latest note, she requests a second piece of paper from Bar and jots a quick message.

"For Doc, please."

The paper disappears, and she heads back upstairs.

She and Bill have some packing to do.

Kait has not yet left Millways, more due to worry about Sameth than anything else. She has, though, been a productive student, and was coming downstairs to exchange a book. Then her clothes change.

For a long moment, Kait stands very, very still. Once she has satisfied herself that she is not going to shift, she walks over to the Bar and asks, very politely, "What the hell?"

She receives a note.

"Seriously?"

Another note.

"And my clothes will come back?"

Another note.

"Promise?"

The next note is a trifle offended. Kait raises her hands and then sweeps a deep curtsy.

"Apologies, parata."

This apparently mollifies Bar, even if Kait is looking highly bemused. Even her hair has been straightened. But at least she appears to not be the only one so changed...

Enzo's actually been avoiding Milliways recently, after a particularly confusing encounter. He can't stay away for long, though, and studying for exams has been helping to take his mind off things (though his pensivity has still been attracting notice from his peers).

Still, he's a bit edgy as he makes his way into the bar for the first time in a week.

Hopefully the fact that he's suddenly wearing a lavender toga (and pale green tunic) will prove a decent distraction.

[Above Milliways, Sameth and Kait talk and study and talk some more about toys, magic, and the fact that Sam's father was once the figurehead of a ship. And although Kait tries, Sam's fear of Death is a little hard to avoid: particularly when it wakes him up, screaming.]

Penny is starting to get a little restless.  You can't tell it by looking at her, unless you watch her knitting.  It keeps coming start and stop, start and stop.

She takes a bite of banana and sighs.  She wants to go home.

In the bar, there's a Sunshine, looking as cloudy as the weather outside. She's curled up on the couch in front of the fireplace with a bakery-bag full of baked goods she made earlier, and a cup of tea.

She's starting to get really worried.

Sam stares through the the door for a few moments to remind his legs that yes he can walk.

Getting to the fireplace takes too long as he shakes but a chair is free and he curls up in it, wishing that maybe the Bar could have waited one more day.

A rat squeaks at him and places a small cake with decorated gears on it on the low table near him, Sameth's not sure if he says thank you or not.

Come and wish him Happy Birthday.

One barefoot goddess out in the sparring area tonight.

She has a lot of extra energy to burn through, and just the occasional run through the forest isn't doing nearly enough for her. So she has found a bit of branch of the right weight and proportion and is putting herself through her paces as one would with a sword.

Totally botherable.

When D'Hoffryn appears in the bar tonight (in the usual pillar of flame), he is rocking a slightly different look; less blue, less impossibly tall, in a robe of crushed brown felt, a little like a monk's. His beard is thicker and longer.

Also: there is a polearm jammed halfway through his torso.

These convocations of the Lower Beings can get so political. He needs a drink.

Michael drops down onto the couch near the fireplace, too-skinny limbs sprawling out to take up as much space as possible, one arm thrown over her eyes.

She moves it when a waitrat approaches, waiting patiently for her to place an order for coffee and a newspaper. One with a crossword.

She'll move again once the waitrat returns. Probably.

Meanwhile, the slogan on her T-shirt is definitely easy to make out.

So are the tears at the knee of her jeans.

It appears to have been a very, very long day.

Black dress. Brown hair. Blue eyes (at the moment).

Verity has spent the day doing Hell's equivilant of paperwork.

(It's very . . . involved. Hell didn't invent paperwork, they just--oh, who are we kidding? They totally invented paperwork.)

So she's not at all displeased to be here rather than some dive near a crossroads outside of Tulsa.

Work can wait.

A man can only work out or study or practice for so long when there's a question niggling at him. At least, that's how it is if the man is Gordon. Tonight he's set aside his guns (well, most of them) and other activities and settled himself down with a pad of lined paper and a pencil, and he's ignoring his dinner in favor of scribbling out things in columns like 'what we know' and 'what a human would do' and 'what actually happened'.

He's not really shaking any ideas loose, and his dinner is getting cold, but damn it, he's going to solve this one. Somehow.
