[OOM: The Adventure of the Burning Bishop, part VIII.

"I am so sorry for your loss. And, and the other stuff. You are - you are a fine gentleman. Shake my hand."

and the epilogue.

Warnings for violence, swearing, and drugging people with deliriums.]

Moriarty has snow in his hair, and on the shoulders of his coat, when he stumbles into the bar with a bottle of rather cheap rotgut in hand. He scowls a little, but doesn't move to leave, instead heading to the Bar. At the very least, he can get some tobacco and smoke in here without the snow snuffing out his pipe.

(The bruises are faded now, save for a slight reddish discolouration beneath his eye, but for the very observant he is still favouring his right as he walks.)

He settles at the Bar, dropping several coins onto her in exchange for tobacco, and sets about to filling up his pipe with meticulous care. Botherable.

[Open for more or less forever.]

[OOM: Juliet and Shawn's Slendy-created vacation gets a little bumpy due to problems both domestic and terroristic (Two tags away from being completed)]

Once their sunbathing session is over, a happy-looking Juliet and Shawn make their way back to their room.

Or what SHOULD be their room.

Instead, it's a bar.

And they're in their swimsuits, covered by heavy white hotel bathrobes.

They simultaneously shrug and move inside together promptly. Coffee, food and conversation sound divine, and Ken and Barbie won't be going anywhere while they're within Milliways'.

Welcome the returning heroes, Milliways. They still have swimmer's ear.

[OOC: Two muns, two pups! Specify who you'd like! Post is open though instaslows may apply 'cause Shawn's mun has a headache. Other slow are being tagged - slowly, but getting tagged. Open 'til their next eps.]

There are two men in the bar today who mark the passage of time via calendars very different from the one running in the background of Milliways.

For both of them today is not actually the solstice, and they're more than a little confused as Bar presents them with items as if it were.

However, as the day marks something special for both of them they're more than willing to roll with it.

Which is why seated at Bar there is a Raph. On his head is a paper hat proclaiming him to be the Birthday Boy. He's a simple man of simple pleasures, which is why Bar has presented to him his favorite cake-shaped dessert: a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting and a stein of his favorite brew.

Out by the Lake, should one venture out to that particular snow-covered area, you'll find Bumi with a sizable hamper of food and booze. If you time it right you'll find him on the Lake itself with a saw in hand cutting a hole in the already substantial ice.

If you're timing is wrong, however, you'll catch him once he's undressed and is in the process of jumping in the frigid water.

Choose wisely.

[For the ease of my poor, sleep deprived mind, specify which one you're tagging. Danke!]

Bar is asleep. But there's no one there tending. Instead, there's a little sign on the countertop that says "Bartending Outside" with an arrow pointing toward the back door. A trail of paper arrows has been taped to the floor in case you didn't get the hint.

Outside, the trail of arrows gives way to a trail of paper luminarias, lighting the way down into the clearing by the lake, which is illuminated with dozens of lanterns of various shapes and sizes. A sign just at the entrance to the clearing reads:

Lunastice
the Winter Moon Festival

On the longest night of the year,
the ponies of Equestria stay up
all night to celebrate the beauty
of the moon and the night in
general. The occasion is marked
with feasts, stargazing, and the
lighting of special moon lanterns.
Come celebrate Lunastice with us!

Talk to Twilight Sparkle at the
Refreshments table for more
information about the holiday.

[ooc: It's happy hour and a partythread all in one! Open for tags all weekend or until it falls off the page, whichever comes last. Feel free to add your own subthreads and threadhop to your heart's content. Have fun!]

There's another, smaller party going on down by the lake, in honor of the longest night of the year.

Well, religious celebration complete with 'sacrifice' (no animals were harmed during the making of this party) and sunset-to-sunrise music and dancing. And feasting. Totally free food and drinks, if you don't mind Roman cuisine.

If you can find the place, that is. Sure, there's a small bonfire, and there's activity going on, but it's off on the far side of the lake, more secluded. This isn't a lighthearted thing, here. This is a throwback to the time when people knew how vital the sun was, and didn't just take for granted the fact that it would come up tomorrow. Worlds are born and worlds die, and you just never know when.

And if it's after midnight, and the sacrifice has been made, you just might be able to catch the Norse god posing as the Syrian-Roman priest-emperor whose shindig this is, if you're so inclined. (He'd be the one covered in blood and flowers.)

[ooc: open all week, what with holiday business and whatnot]

In deference to the season, the working title of Tyler's current project is boxing Day Hordes and not nearly as filled with sprays of blood as his usual work.

It's also in script form backed with stick figure sketches instead of his usual prose. He promised something you could use for an arty sort of movie and there's no point in starting further from the end point than you have to.

So, near the fireplace with a pad of paper on his knee, there is a botherable horror author.
