Ianto was on his way home when the door opened to Milliways.

(It was meant to be an Indian place. He wanted a kebab.)

He sighs, not really in the mood for socializing, but he has never refused an entry to Milliways when it's come and isn't going to start now.

He gets supper from the bar and sits in a booth near the back of the enormous room where he can eat and spread out his work.

He is not hiding. Perish the thought. He'd just rather not be noticed.

"that's much better than what I was thinking," Ianto says. "Because a commander who's careless with his men--that's terrible."

"Oh, yeah," Lorne says, shaking his head. "Sheppard would never be reckless with his men."

"Good," Ianto says softly, and the name on the tab board catches his eye. "John Sheppard?"

"Yeah. You know him?"

Ianto points to the board. "No."

Lorne glances at the board. "Oh, yeah. I think he used to come here too. I've never seen him here though."

"Have you ever asked him about it?"

[callmemajor]

"Nope," Lorne says, smiling completely unabashedly.

"Well, that's comforting."
