Nathan was still around, and he vaguely remembered something piratey last year around this time. But really? Seriously, he didn't need a damn hat or a hook on his hand.

He took one look at the bar, and went "Screw this." Not in the mood for Milli-weirdness at the moment. And headed out back to walk and likely fly around. He's gonna camp out back since no hats and he's got two hands back there, k?

"Don't work for any organization with initials," Nathan muttered to himself, and in a louder voice he added, "Sounds like the guys who tried to kidnap me once back home."

"Really? I'm not sure what it's even called yet, it's so black box. All I know is that they're very interested in all things related to a possibly botched mission. ...I wish I could remember.

"What happened to you, if you don't mind talking about it?"

"A couple of guys grabbed me from my hotel room at gunpoint. I fought them and ran. Managed to get away."
Not yet saying how he got away. Not just yet.

"Just for no apparent reason? Or did they say they wanted something?"

"Yeah, saying they just wanted to ask me some questions."

Nathan then stepped back from John, "But it's probably because of this." And he shot into the air suddenly.

The escape of his is likely making more sense now.

John's eyes widen, but he just accepts the flight. "I see. There were other factors in mine too." To demonstrate, John holds up his right hand, now glowing blue, and knits his eyebrows in concentration. A large fallen tree limb suddenly floats up into the air, and stays there, pivoting like a gyroscope, engulfed in yellow lights.

John's hand goes out, and the limb flies through the air to hit another tree, fracturing into a billion splinters.

Nathan flew back down, but remaining in the air for a moment to watch.

"Is that something that just started?"

"Not sure, really... like I said, the past six months of my life are gone to me. I woke up in a hospital, drugged half out of my mind, chained to the bed, and bruised all over."

"Worst part is, I could tell I'd been there for a while."

"Our understanding of this, our abilities... it's genetic. But you think they altered you to have this?"

John shakes his head. "They could have, but I get the feeling that I was like this even before I was brought in. But the possibility's still there."

Nathan eyed him, "Wonder if that makes you like us. Or the mutants around here."

"Talked to a few mutants, and it seems like their powers generally manifest around the early teens? So I have no idea, really. I mean, there was a lot of speculation a few years back about children and psychic ability, so I guess I could've just been blocking mine."
