The woman walking into the bar today still has the remains of eyeliner and glitter around her eyes, but the clothes themselves are a perfectly ordinary set of shorts and fitted t-shirt.

If anyone asks, Nadine was at a party last night. And, because she can, Natasha is going to make sure that party was way, way more fun than 'Tanya's' waitressing shift.

Mostly, though, she's going to claim a couch, slip off her tennis shoes, and curl her feet up, just because she can.

Los Angeles is still standing.

That fact is the main reason Stacker Pentecost's throbbing headache isn't significantly worse. They lost Mammoth Apostle in the city's defense, and Yamarashi's corpse and blood are scattered over half the port of Long Beach, but Gipsy Danger is still operational, the Becket brothers are still alive, and Los Angeles is still standing.

Right now all he wants is to sit down somewhere quiet and listen to soothing, meaningless noises. What he gets instead is Milliways. He pauses two steps inside the door, absolutely still for a moment; then, with an exhalation that isn't quite up to the task of being a sigh, he turns to scan his surroundings.

Well. Even if this isn't the Academy, he'll manage. He should be able to get a drink without too much trouble.

[OOC: At the moment, Pentecost is in his Pan-Pacific Defense Corps uniform, with an additional emblem indicating his current status as pilot instructor at the Jaeger Academy.]

[OOM: "Do you know who that is? You've saved the king's son."]

When Jack Benjamin pushes open the door, he pauses as if in disbelief. It's been two years since he was last in Milliways. Two years of war, far from the comforts of Shiloh and family.

There's a wound on his forehead, new but healing.

Two years.

Despite doctor's orders, Jack is going to have a drink.

The familiar blue-haired mutant strides into the bar today, closing the door behind her and leaning against it. She has intel; not a whole lot of it, not enough to risk taking the rest of her team anywhere for it, but enough for Noriko to risk a run herself.

She can't in good conscience wait much longer to figure out who's behind the distribution of the virus that's causing a few too many dead people in her world. First it was Nicodemus, then Beautiful Dreamer and Fever Pitch, and now there's been a little lull. Hopefully--and Noriko's not really getting her hopes up on this but still--the lull will be permanent, if anything comes of the new development.

She came to Milliways to give herself some time to think and come up with a plan, and Nori thinks she ought to maybe write a note explaining where she's going when she heads back out the door. But twenty minutes later and she's still staring at a blank piece of paper with no words coming to her.

Javert, as usual, spent most of the day out with the horse. There was a long ride out in the middle of the day, and the afternoon spent cleaning her stall, and tack, and whatever else he could find of hers that needed tending to.

And now there is an evening stretched before him. Without any enthusiasm at all, he asks to be provided with a book. The Bar produces one on Napoleon.

'Must I?'

He had had quite enough of that man when he was young. But it does not disappear, so he takes it with a sigh, and retreats to his normal far corner.

[OOC: Open 'til the weekend. Catch him outside or in, either works. :)

ETA:
BOOM. After 2am = time to crash. Thanks, guys. Catch ya tomorrow. <333]

[OOM: Serafina, 1954. How does fire get to be that cold? Living through the occupation of Warsaw and three terrible marriages, apparently.

Content warnings for flashback-type discussions of: violence (domestic, sexual, war crime); reproductive issues; highly unfortunate theology that does not represent the opinions of the mun but shows what can happen when you try to map one culture's belief system onto another culture in a very different time and place (the Norse liked their violence, is what I'm saying); a lethal explosion but alas, no car chases this time; and a really awkward not-quite-sex scene.

It's also long, so it turns out (totally unintentionally, but there it is) you can save time and avoid the violence etc. by just listening to this song instead. and with that done, I am so far behind on my tags and costume stuff where did July go]
