Mike's sitting at Bar all the while grinning like the cat who got the canary.
The narration would like to point out that he's been grinning that way for the last two days straight.
And yes, Mike is still smiling even if there isn't anyone there to see him.
Be afraid, denizens of Milliways.
Be very very afraid.

Either way, Jenny's looking at him curiously. He's really happy, isn't he?

Mike doesn't seem to be noticing Jen, which is why Bar nudges him...ever so slightly.
And by slightly the narration means that suddenly Mike finds himself on the floor by Jen's feet.
"Oooof."

"Need help?"
no subject
"woah."
Then he looks up at the hand.
"Yeah, thanks."
And keeps going to look up at the lady the hand is attached to.
"Woah."

Jenny's eyebrows go up as confusion quickly gives way to curiosity. This man is happy and odd. It's a brilliant combination!
"Why?"

"You're one of those drop dead gorgeous girls who doesn't realize it, aren't you?"
no subject
"Really?"
And then she realises the words that came before gorgeous.
"That can't be a good thing, though. I wouldn't... people shouldn't drop dead just because someone, because I'm gorgeous."

Oh how the eyebrows do waggle.

Her lower lip trembles just a little bit. "But you'd still be dead."

Because everyone else is going to die and she'll live forever.
"I like being told I'm gorgeous," she tries to rationalize, "but I don't want people to die because of it."
no subject
"Nah, just a different state of mind. Ask any of the dead people around here, they'll tell you."

It's kind of nice to have contact with someone without her thoughts being relayed. Practice does make perfect!
"Some of my best friends here are dead," Jenny offers. "But they were dead when I met them. And didn't think I'm gorgeous."

"I think I like you."

He shakes the hand he's already holding.

That hand she's still holding? Is now being placed on her chest.
"See, two hearts! But I was born on a different planet from the rest of my species."
