Sam is so terribly glad to see the bar tonight. She hasn't yet managed to shed her jumper, and she's fairly sure it will take several showers to stop smelling of petrol, but she is terribly ready for a drink. Bar provides a pint without needing to be asked.

Sooraya doesn't come into the bar proper much, and she's alright with that; she's not nearly as outspoken as her roommate, and usually doesn't have much need for escapism. So it catches her by surprise when she crosses the threshold of the door with a kind of frame drum under her arm, and a small bag of metal rings held between her fingers with two pair of pliers.

It's time to do some repairs on her daf anyway, and she may as well do it here. At last there are interesting people around.
