There's been something of a battle of wills afoot over the past few days: Chirithy wants Eden to train more, Eden thinks that's boring and has been refusing. With neither being able to budge on it, a compromise of sorts has been reached.

Which is why Eden is slouched on the sofa with a variety of heavy tomes next to him, on subjects ranging from robotics to the metaphysics of shaping primordial elements into animate beings, and is lazily flicking through them and scribbling notes down on his hand and wrist as he goes.

Wilford is at the bar tonight, looking like a teenager who's been told to dress up nice for something. He got as far as a decent tie and actually styling his hair, and then gave up and finished his outfit off with a leather jacket and a pair of ratty old skate shoes. After the day he's had, he's occupying himself with an enormous steak and quite a lot of whiskey, while his dog continues to try to obliterate his baseball bat down on the floor.

Notes and fresh produce

Bar has been looking after keeping young Rae's produce fresh, and it looks like Rae has gotten everything harvested, written, and ready. So this afternoon, Rae asks Bar to deliver a couple of notes and some of her garden produce.

Sherlock had two reasons to leave the hospital today. Yes, the nurses scold him and tell him he's not supposed to just leave; but he brings the IV stand with him everywhere, and he's functioned quite well on stronger drugs.

Reason Number One, another meeting with Magnussen (on his terms, thank you very much, he is not going to subject himself to Magnussen's particular brand of intimidation again.) This one at Speedy's, and which provided a very startling piece of intelligence that he is still mulling over.

He knows it's a deal with the devil. John is worth marching into Hell.

Reason Number Two, he got a very ... troubling. Yes, troubling video over the T-minus from Jim, and -- well.

Fry slams the door behind him when he comes into the bar tonight, clutching a small black object. He looks around quickly, hoping to spot Gene, and then goes over to the bar.

"Bar, have you seen Gene? I need police advice or I might have to go on the run." he says.

This is the last time he takes advice from anyone with a pink moustache.
