On one of the large round tables, Seimei has set up a hot pot feast (or shabu-shabu feast, if you prefer the Japanese name for it). In the middle of the table is a big heated double flavor hot pot with spicy broth on one side and herbal broth on the other, each including a slotted ladle to fish things out once they have been cooked.

The pot is surrounded by bowls of various dipping delights: fried tofu, uncooked noodles, quail eggs, sliced tubers, and various mushrooms and vegetables. There are also a few different kinds of dipping sauces. (Normally hot pots include some form of meat, but since Seimei is a vegetarian, meat is noticeably absent from this spread.)

Seimei has a bowl, a pair of chopsticks, and a Chinese soup spoon. There is a similar place setting across the table. This sort of meal is meant to be shared, and clearly he is expecting that someone will come along to share it with.
