It is a cold, dry morning.

Teja is outside, by the lakeside. He has already gone through some of the unarmed exercises that have become second nature by now. Now, he is practising with the naginata that he has made, when he was in Ryu Haybusa's world. He is swinging it around in large circles, doing the kata that he has learned from the young woman who was teaching this weapon in Hayabusa village.

Xaldin steps out of the dark paths and closes them behind himself. He raises one hand in greeting, the other has a fairly hefty three-ring binder full of papers.

"Greetings, Xaldin," Teja says, finishing the series of kata he was doing.

Pause.

"Being a Nobody would involve much writing?"

"Being a scientist does." Xaldin says, "This is my report on our encounter in the bath. Zexion required it for his research into what it is that makes Demyx and myself so unstable while the others are not. Knowing what helps can help figure out what caused the instability. Knowing that in greater detail could assist him in fixing it.

"VI is the smartest of us, by far."

"You wrote that much -- about taking a bath with me?" Teja says, astonished, lowering the naginata.

Pause.

"It is strange to think that he would hear what I have said, and done, while we were alone," he then ventures. "I would rather he did not -- but then, I see your reasoning. If he would fix the instability..."

"Much of it is evaluation and interpretation of what was done." Xaldin says, "In pure scientific manner. It is nothing that he will judge you for. Even when he was Somebody he didn't have any interest in prurient activities. I can add a rider that you request he not spend more time than necessary reading your actions."

"I do wish to hamper his research," Teja says. "And if he has no interest in such things, then I would mind even less. But I would request that he not discuss that which I told you of myself with any other. I held nothing back when I spoke to you -- and I will not hold back another time, when I share my bath with you again. Unless Zexion finds a way of fixing that instability before you wish for my company again, to reassure you of your existence."

Xaldin offers a smile, and a nod, "I will tell him this. Thank you, Teja. I am not holding back from you either. It takes two major events, at this point, to keep my focus. It used to be one per month."

"That was Xigbar redoing your hair, is that it?" Teja says.

He ponders awhile.

"So if it gets worse, you will need such reassurance more often? Unless Zexion finds a way to stop this process, even before you gain a heart."

"Yes. I appear to have stabilized at this point, but that is not a guarantee. I spent ten years with a month long cycle before I dropped to where I am now. Xigbar's work on my hair is still the most effective thing. It will most likely always be so. Other things - hold time between episodes of contact with him."

"I would help you again, if you wish me to," Teja says.

"Please." Xaldin says quietly, "Yes. When you have time, if it will not upset your lovers. Every bit helps."

"I have time for you, my Xaldin, and it will not upset them -- not only would they have others, in their worlds; that which we do would not yet truly mean I am unfaithful to them. There is only one condition that I may ask, under which I must stop helping you in that manner."

Xaldin's chin raises and he then nods, "Please let me know."

Arms crossed as he watches Teja, Zexion waits for a pause in his katas before interrupting.

Teja finishes, taking his time, and then turns to look at him.

"Greetings, Zexion," he then says.

"Greetings. I am here to speak with you in regards to III." Concise and straight to the point.

Pleasantries are polite, but there are more important matters at hand to start with.

"You mean Xaldin?" Teja says.

Pause.

"Are you going to tell me to stay away from him?"

"Why would I do that?"

"Your stance seemed to indicate you were going to declare something fundamental," Teja says, feeling ever so slightly reminded of Justin. Young men would do such a thing! "And as it is about Xaldin, would that not be the most obvious thing you might wish to say?"

"Hardly." That out of the way, Zexion stands straight-backed once more. "I have actually come to inquire in regard to whether or not you intend to continue your ... affirmations with him. They help his stability, and as such are beneficial to the Organization."

That gets a true, unexpected laugh from Teja. "I am not interested in your organisation!" he says. "I am interested in you Nobodies, as individuals, and as metaphors for much of the human condition, as it occurs in slightly saner universes."

Yes, he does infer their universe is insane.-

"Your sentiment is no doubt touching, but not needed in my case." Zexion states flatly, without inflection for good or for ill.

"I have no elemental or psychological instability that requires affirmation of my existence. However, as I have yet to properly research to see if that is aiding III's recovery, you are welcome to continue that with him. Also, please answer the first question."

"You think you have nothing that I may learn about?" Teja says. "That among all Nobodies, you are the only one from whom I may not glean metaphorical insight, and an expansion of my philosophy? I doubt that."

Pause.

"As for your question -- yes! I will be there for him, I will support him, and reaffirm his existence in any way I may think of. He can rely on me -- under one condition, barring one thing that may come up!"

"And how likely would it be for that 'one condition' to come up?" He needs to know if they need several backups, after all. "As well, you are free to do as you like in regards to your observations. I can appreciate the desire for study and understanding, I merely wish to assert that pleasantries and kindness aside from that which is require for politeness are wasted effort when applied to myself." Zexion informs.

"Rest assured, I expect no pleasantry or kindness from any," Teja says. "And that condition is highly unlikely -- it is only that should one of the three that I loved most in life should turn up in this place, after all, then they will come first, and depending on how our continued tale would flow, being faithful to that one might mean I could not even do what I did for Xaldin any more. But this is highly unlikely -- none from my world ever came here so far, and my instinct tells me it is not going to happen. But I would say, so there are no surprises, in the highly unlikely case fate wills it otherwise. I would not forsake Xaldin without warning!"
