Boy, bar, several pieces of lined paper and a scowl.

He needs to figure out who to write notes to, and how to say what he needs to say.

Judging by the collection of balled-up papers nearby? It's not going well.

"Ah."

They usually do, with Billy. Comes of his tendency to chase and restate something until he absolutely understands.

"Between that and the realization that I was only upsetting you further it seemed best to leave. Was I wrong?" He's still questioning Billy because Billy does seem to be the only Somebody willing to explain.

"--no. Probably not. I wasn't really in the frame of mind to be rational." He bites his lip. He's not good at explaining, not at all, which is the problem. "Walking away is never something I've been good at, though."

"It wasn't Xigbar's either." Xaldin states, "It was Dilan's. He did not like to fight."

"Well." He can see that. Even if Xaldin is a damn good fighter. "Some people are more rational than others."

"And now I am a Nobody." Xaldin agrees, "Memory and Habit."

"Memory and habit." He has no idea how that works. "How are you?"

"Tired." he admits, "But not fading any more ahead of schedule. Tired I can live with."

"Good." He's happy that it's stabalized, anyway. "Teddy and I are really leaving soon. Teja says he'll be here."

"Thank you for telling me." Xaldin says with a nod, "If you require assistance let us know."

"I will. And we'll have Eowyn and all the others with us. If --" They can go to their universe. And Xaldin doesn't want them to stay here.

"They will remain with you." Xaldin states. There is no other option.

Billy looks deeply relieved. "Yes. Thank you."

"Of course." Xaldin says with a small frown, "You were given their use. Until you no longer need them they will remain with you."

"I don't want to put them into danger."

Which is missing the point.

"They are fighters." Xaldin says, "They will be in danger with you or without you. The difference is only if they will keep you alive or not."

"Okay." He nods, at that. "Thank you."

"You are welcome." It's rote, polite, unfeeling. "They can also be sent for us if needed."

"I'll keep it in mind."
