"Worth getting celled, even, maybe. I amend my previous statement."

Teddy makes a show of looking around the bar. "Where is this other mysterious beau so that I might righteously kick his ass?"

"You, stupid." Billy leans over to kiss Teddy on the nose.

Teddy smiles an utterly goofy smile, and looks back up.

"Good. Had me wondering wondering for a second, there."

Billy snorts. "As if."

Teddy gives him an extremely light cuff on the ears.

"Gotta protect my own, home-dawg."

Billy cracks up. "You're crazy."

"Crazy about you."

Puppy-eyes.

"I can live with that."

Goofy smile.

"That's good, cause you'll have to. Forever. And ever. And forever beyond that. And..."

Beat.

"I totally distracted you from getting stuff done, didn't I. Sorry."

"You are a very welcome distraction. Always."

"Aww, thanks. But we need to get this stuff done. Hmm." A pen and paper appear for him. "How's this. You dictate to me, and I'll write. Since my handwriting's easier to read."

"Okay. Who do you want to do first? Or work our way down the list?"

"Work our way down sounds easiest. Who first?" He scoots a little closer to Billy so he can see the list, and, well. He's allowed.

"Umm." He checks the list. "Nobodies. Which just needs to say where we're going."

"Okay."

Teddy writes out a quick note, which reads:

Teddy and I have left to go fight in the war in our world. We thank you for all your assistance, and hope that you remain well. If the situation becomes dire, Lessers will be sent to contact you. Once again, thank you, and good luck.

He shows it to Billy. "That good?"

"Very formal. But it works." Billy signs his name underneath the note.

"Eh." Teddy shrugs. "I tend to write that way to adults. Guess it comes of writing classes. Next?"

"Teja. Which I guess we need to do individually." Billy gets his own piece of paper.

Teddy nods, and starts writing one of his own.

Teja,

I've gone back to my world with Billy to fight in our war. I'm thankful for your staying here to help the Nobodies. If I survive (it's very hard to kill me, but the possibility exists that I might not make it), I'd like to talk with you as soon as this is all over, no matter who wins or loses.

You're a very good friend and mentor, and your advice will be put to good use.

Teddy Altman

Billy reads over Teddy's shoulder as he's writing, and frowns at the 'if I survive.'

"Nobody dies. Kate said."

He re-writes it, without that portion. "Sorry."

Realist here. And he's wondering if Kate's them is their them. Milliways is weird.

He's clinging to that bit of information without reserve. He refuses to believe that he'll loose Teddy. If he thinks about anything else he'll collapse.

"Love you."

His own note reads:

Teja --

I've gone back to my world for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your help and advice.

"Oh, speaking of Teja. He told me something you should know. What was it..." Teddy thinks for a second, and then remembers.

"'If the ones that you love... are fighting also, by your side or somewhere else... then you must trust him that he can fight as well as you do, and stop turning your head towards him all the time.' And then he said to walk the narrow gap between fearing for you, and knowing you were fighting along with me.

Billy nods in agreement, leaning over for a kiss. "I can't not worry about you. But I know you're capable."

"I think it was more that you not let that cripple you. Same here," he says, kissing Billy gently. "I worry because I love you."
