(no subject)

Justin's feeling colourful today, as well as artsy. Well, he's always feeling artsy but there is a work ethic behind today's need to draw.

And underneath;

Sit for a quick portrait, have a drink on me. And also, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it. Come join me if you wish you were at home today.

He has decided to do some work on his portfolio. So there you go, one blond teenager behind the bar, saying; 'We're on for Happy Hour, everyone. What can I get you?'

[OOC: In Soviet Russia, slowtime chooses YOU. In other words - thanks for great threads people, I'll be around all weekend to finish them up. :)]

"Something like that." He holds up a sketchbook.

Justin is better than making Esfir paranoid, and he has a lot of energy.

"You can," Steve offers, taking a stool. He's a little big for it, but he's also used to that. "Have you been drawing long?"

Steve grins. "About the same. Nice to meet you, Justin. Steve Rogers."

He would hold his hand out for a shake, but Justin is busy and he's sitting still.

Steve smiles and nods, examining it closely with a practiced eye. "You're very good. Thinking of doing it professionally?"

"A long, long, long time ago. I had to put it aside for a few different reasons, but I've never stopped drawing. You should go for it if it's what you want, you've got the talent to succeed."

"World War II," he says, wryly. "I was working for the WPA painting murals back then, but when we started hearing the things coming out of Germany... well. Everyone gave up something."

"Really?" Steve leans forward, interested. "I was in the army. Long retired."

He's leaving out the Captain America part rather on purpose. Sometimes it's nice to be just Steve -- not Cap, not Rojhaz.

"I haven't. American?"

"I was special operations, undercover as part of the infantry. And no, I'm not dead, just very old."

[identity profile] theforerunner.livejournal.com 2008-11-27 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not really," he admits. "I dislike war movies as a rule. And I'm a hundred and seventy. That would be the 'special' part of the operations."

"I was part of a program to create a super-soldier. They only succeeded once." He shrugs broad shoulders, clearly signifiying that this is no big deal.

Really.

"Probably."

Living for 170 years is a bit of a downside. As is surviving getting shot in the head.

"Did I? I'm sorry." He doesn't usually allow himself to brood.
