Justin's feeling colourful today, as well as artsy. Well, he's always feeling artsy but there is a work ethic behind today's need to draw.

He has decided to do some work on his portfolio. So there you go, one blond teenager behind the bar, saying; 'We're on for Happy Hour, everyone. What can I get you?'

It is very pretty, and Teddy admires it for a second, almost scared to drink it.

"Wow, that does have everything. Oh, well. War on my world. Some... people... got thrown in a crazy alternate dimension prison, when we went back. It's just all messed up and shit." It's said in the detached sort of tone that people use to give lectures on the eating habits of sea snails, not for their own lives. There's something more to the story.

Quite obviously. Justin frowns.

'...OK, I know we don't really know each other all that well or anything, so you don't have to tell me if you don't want to but...there's obviously something you're leaving out there.'

He's making a clear invitation for Teddy to talk if he wants to but isn't going to push him if he's not cool with it. He can be subtle sometimes.

"Yeah, I am. Just..." he takes a deep breath, and pokes the swizzle stick around with his index finger. "Billy. He was one of the ones they took."

And it's his fault.

'...oh.'

Shit.

'Is he OK? I mean, is he...back?'

Alternate dimension prison? He doesn't even know where to start in asking a) how the fuck that happened, and b) what the fuck that is.

"He... came back, for an evening, and then left again, leaving me a note. So it would be easier, he said. He swore he was fine, but... he's not fine. Luckily time's stopped, but."

Teddy sighs, and finishes swirling the drink.

"We're working on a plan to get him back. Some people here in Milliways, and the heroes back home. It'll be okay, I guess. Has to. But thanks."

How could anyone be fine in an alternate dimension prison?

'Is there anything I can do to help?'

It's an immediate question. He doesn't know what use he could possibly be but if he can, he will.

"Well, this drink cheered me up. Every little thing helps, really." He flashes a small, almost-pained smile at Justin. "I'll still pay, of course. Unless you really want to sketch an emo superhero."

'You don't need to pay,' he says quickly.

'And of course I want to draw you. Emo is just as interesting as happy - besides, you're still cute.'

He grins, hoping to cheer him up a bit more. Not that Teddy isn't cute, because he is.

"Okay," Teddy says after taking a sip of his drink. "When you put it like that..." He does give the slightest of smiles, but it disappears almost as soon as it appears.

'You can't resist.'

He furnishes his own end to Teddy's sentence, grabbing his sketchpad as he does.

'Ok, just do what you're doing. You don'thave to hold still or anything - this wont take long.'

"Okay," Teddy says, and keeps looking at the drink, stirring it occasionally to see how the different colors swirl.

It only takes five minutes or so to fill a couple of pages with quick sketches - parts of Teddy's face, his hands, eyes, an ear. These pages are put down when he's done and then he starts on the full picture, his attention on his work absolute.

The finished product is very good - Teddy's whole top half leaning at the bar, playing with his drink. He looks...well, like he looks in real life. Melancholy, worried, stressed. Justin turns his pad to show him without saying anything - he's pretty pleased with this one.

"Wow." Teddy studies it for a little longer, tracing the lines with his eyes--does he really look that bad?--and then looks at Justin. "That's... you're an amazing artist, is all I can say. I'm... wow."

'Thanks.'

He looks at it again, then puts it down.

'I'd offer to make you a copy when I get back to my computer but I get the feeling you might not want a reminder of this. But if you do, you're welcome to one.'

"Alright. I won't want one until this mess is over, but other than that..." Teddy shrugs. "Thanks, though. So I guess you still can't go home?"

'No, not yet.'

Justin shrugs, making light of how he feels about it because it's nothing to how Teddy must be feeling right now.

'It's not so bad here though - it's not like I miss school or family, really. There's just this guy I'd like to see again, that's all.'

"Yeah, I can imagine that must be hard. At least you get to practice your art, here, right?" Teddy does better when he's sympathizing for other people instead of worrying about his own problems--it takes his mind off of things.

'I guess.'

He looks down.

'I can do that at home too though and still see him.'

There's a sigh, then he appears to shake it off.

'It's OK though. The bar doesn't keep anyone here indefinitely. I'll just have to wait it out.'

"Yeah. Bar kept my friend out of here for a little while, but she came back eventually. I'm sure it'll all work itself out, Justin," he says, giving a friendly smile.

'It always does, right? You should remember that too.'

Though being held prisoner here isn't the same thing as what Billy's going through at all.

'Everything'll be all right.'

It's really not, but Teddy's not one to play 'who has it worse.'

"Yeah. I'm sure it will." It's what everyone keeps saying, isn't it? that must make it true.
