The Halls of her Forefathers were silent and cold. How does one explain to a man who would not listen that his only son and heir was dead? It was not a light task that was set upon the Lady's shoulders as she quietly closed the door behind her discovering the mysterious place at the end of all things. For a moment she paused where she stood pressing a hand against her stomach and one agianst her mouth trying to keep back any tears that wanted to fall. Someone had to be strong and those many eyes would be looking to her.
Lowering her hand, Eowyn stepped lightly with a solemn expression upon her face toward where the fireplace was. She needed time as well as space and this was, out of all of Edoras, was the only place she could do it at.

Power. Strength.
He'll nod his head in a respectful greeting if she glances his way.

What nod of a head the man gave was returned in kind fashion as she gracefully sat upon a seat across from him glancing toward where the flames danced within the hearth. It was warm there which was more comforting than most people would notice.

"Evening, ma'am," he says, quietly.

Something is still bothering her, but he won't press.

For half a second she seemed to truely smile but within a blink of an eye it was gone. "Have the snows fallen here yet?"

"Hello!" he said happily and then his face fell, "Are you okay? Hey, would you like some candy?"
You know candy helps everything.

He gives Eowyn a glance and a smile as she comes near, though.

"Westu Hal," Eowyn said softly in greeting.

Eowyn looked back to Arnold, lightly tilting her head to the left. "What toy do you play with?"

He holds out the plane (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/cursedpanda/plane.png) for her inspection.

Then lightly she asked. "What does it do?"

He beams at her. "It flies." Airplanes are just about his favorite things.
no subject
"How does it fly? It has no wings like that of a bird or of the legend dragons."

Finally daring another glance at the you she frowned. "You have these where you are from?"

At the question of was it fun? Well, needless to say the smile slowly started to return. "To feel the wind blow through your hair, the thundering of hooves and the creak of leather and wood in your ears...the rush of galloping across the Mark. Yes. It is fun."
"Do forgive me for not introducing myself. I am Eowyn, daughter of Eomund."

Then, politely: "I'm Arnold, it's very nice to meet you, Miss Eowyn."

He was a nice young man. To many of the children in Edoras were quiet and feared not to laugh any more.

"To come from a world where people fly and know not how to ride a horse must mean it is an interesting place."
no subject
"Well, it's just because I live in the city, so there's not much space for horses. And driving out to the country for lessons is kind of expensive." Arnold doesn't think his home is very out of the ordinary, if she couldn't tell.

"You are from another world?" A strange question to ask indeed.

"Are we not all from other worlds here?" Teyla asks in return.
