Riku's sitting at a table near the front, his boots plopped on the desk, writing furiously in a notebook.

He's concentrating so hard he wouldn't notice if a giant tried to sneak up on him. He's so confused his hands are shaking. He's so pissed off that he wants to punch the wall until either the wall or his fist breaks.

He's just figured out something about his friends and enemies and the bar, and he has no idea what to do about this knowledge at all.

And Ansem's voice, over and over, shooting daggers into his head and heart:

I told you so I told you so I told you so

Riku is a little calmer with that. If there's - if there's one thing that Ansem can't touch, it's this, maybe because Riku is completely assured around Akito or Rhyme, or maybe because Ansem knows what Akito can do to him.

Or, simply, both.

Riku kisses him again, it's a grateful one.

"Some," he says.

And still more kissing, with Riku petting Akito's hair this time.

It is quite the distraction from woe.

"Cute," Riku mumbles, and smiles.

He has something else to ask, but he can wait a moment or two. Relaxation helps.

"Luckiest guy in the world, clearly."

Riku pauses.

"Do you mind giving a little more advice?"

"Or it can belong to both of us." Fair enough!

"Have I ever told you anything about Sora?"

"Yes!" Riku says, and grins. "He's the keyblade wielder, the best there ever was."

The grin is only momentarily there, though.

"But even if he can come in here, he's either from my future or the parallel. Namine unchained everyone's memories of him, and froze him in a bubble. He's - incomplete, there's a shadow of him running around now."

"He's a shell," Riku says. "Of what Sora could be, but no heart inside."

"He's not a bad guy. Most of them - aren't - they just go about things the wrong way. Wanting to be something you're not kind of brings about desperation, you know?

And I think he's the most desperate of all of them."

"Organization XIII. They're all like him - they want hearts, they want to be complete.

I want to help him, but I want to help Sora, too. And helping Sora requires hurting Roxas."

Riku shakes his head. "It's the fucking method. Manipulating him, making him think he's real - changing his fucking personality - that's everything DiZ wants to do. He says it's the only way."

He hates it just as he hates that bastard.

Riku looks frustrated.

"But I can't think of anything."

"Kairi and Sora are both from beyond it happening," Riku says. "And anyone I know outside doesn't give a shit."

Except Axel. But Roxas didn't exactly accept that, did he?
