Riku's sitting at a table near the front, his boots plopped on the desk, writing furiously in a notebook.

He's concentrating so hard he wouldn't notice if a giant tried to sneak up on him. He's so confused his hands are shaking. He's so pissed off that he wants to punch the wall until either the wall or his fist breaks.

He's just figured out something about his friends and enemies and the bar, and he has no idea what to do about this knowledge at all.

And Ansem's voice, over and over, shooting daggers into his head and heart:

I told you so I told you so I told you so

[OOC: Warning for a not-quite-right Riku, and the possibility of having to deal with Ansem.]

"Sushi sounds lovely, thanks. But the fact that everyone is screwed up is not the point at all," Yrael replies. "The first step to fixing any screwup-"

Like Riku here.

"-is to admit to being screwed up. Then you know what to work on. Riku, who has twice sought to provoke me into harming him, and has burned holes in his own memory on purpose, stated that he was not screwed up at all."

"I do not have the best bedside manner, but I think Riku would be a stronger person if he admitted to his screw ups enough to work on fixing them. Rather than be let continue on getting more screwed up by not doing anything. True love is helping a loved one to heal from their screw ups, not allowing their screwed-upness to flourish unchecked."

Yrael doesn't believe he's screwed up, because he doesn't subscribe to anyone else's standard to judgement.

"The first step is accepting that you have screw-ups, Riku. You were... pretty vehemently denying their existence, back there." Means he hasn't progressed much, if any.

"You probably have a better bedside manner than I do," Yrael grins at Akito. "Humans are fragile things, more sensitive than I tend to deal with." He glances at Riku.

And Akito probably cares enough to see that the poking heals rather than causes anyone to shatter. Yrael doesn't get to break people very often. Riku's just too tempting a target to pass up, sometimes.
