Kaylee's been in Milliways most of the day, working in the garage on her and the captain's project. She did promise. And she can try to keep her promises.

She's still exhausted. That's why it's a cup of coffee in front of her, and at the bar, her chin's in her hand.

Kaylee straightens -- and immediately facepalms.

"Ō, zhè zhēn shì gè kuàilè de jìnzhăn..."

"You can say that again," Saffron replies, rolling her eyes.

"So how's the ship-stealin' racket these days?" Kaylee folds her arms. "Lucrative, I'm guessin'?"

"Not every ship's as easy to sabotage as your Serenity," Saffron retorts.

Meaning no, not so profitable these days.

"Yeah, but you ain't a great saboteur." Kaylee leans back against the bar. "Didn't take me all that long to undo any of that, either time. -- maybe that's your problem."

"Oh, you know how to do your job, I'll give you that," Saffron concedes.

"Takes a lot of talent to keep that lièzhì ship flying."

Up sides to feeling a little numb. And Saffron doesn't know about what's in the garage, either.

Kaylee tilts her head.

"I'll say xièxie nĭ for the compliment and let you know that if you're tryin' to get some kind of rise out of me, you're gonna have to work a bit harder."

She takes a moment, pauses, decides it's not worth the effort. This time.

"Look at it this way; least I'm not calling you an idiot like before."

"I'm honored," Kaylee says, dry as dust. "Really I am."

She turns just enough to pick up her cup of coffee. Saffron never leaves her line of sight.

"You should be," Saffron replies plainly.

"And why's that?" Kaylee doesn't believe her; it's pretty obvious.
