[Once upon a time there was an offering and accepting.
Which was followed by a well-stored package that stayed upstairs.
It had been briefly forgotten -- unsurprising given other distractions -- until today. ]
Tonight a shiny bronze kitten jumped from the base of the stairs, blinking at the wide open bar with golden eyes.
It wound its way through chair and table mazes, through at least one booth before going across the bar stool tops, and stops on the edge of the bar. Staring with quizzical ire and reluctance at a ball of purple yarn that had just magically appeared.

She's wearing pajamas, which means it is probably some ungodly hour of the morning in Forks, Washington. This is definitely just what she needed.
At least she makes her way over to the Bar without incident.
"Hot cocoa, please. Extra hot, extra cocoa."

Logically that made perfect sense the vampire-not-a-cat part of his mind. Yet still he found stalking close enough to nudge it with his nose.
It rocked back and forth.
Which somehow called for batting at it at the same time as a very, very, very unplanned, very real, Bella Swan sat down and ordered hot chocolate not but five feet away.
The yarn ball?
The one half forgotten even in mid swipe?
Went flying with a little too much force down the bar toward her.

1. Cocoa appears.
2. Girl reaches for cocoa.
3. Sudden flying object collides with girl's hand just as she picks up the cocoa.
4. ... profit?"OW! OW OWOWHOTHOT OW HOT OW OW!!"
It's a good thing no one's around to witness the quite literal flailing of a girl who's just managed to spill her extra-hot, extra-chocolatey drink all over the arm of her pajamas.
Except, you know. A kitten.

Could kittens look resentfully embarrassed?
Edward can't remember the last time he watched a cat do anything that wasn't Yrael or his little one. Even though it made no sense at all, he sat down with his tail twitching, giving a plaintive mew.

A furtive glance around, however, told her that it could've been entirely worse. No one seemed to have taken any great notice of her mishap.
"Only you, Bella." she sighed, wearily. "'Death by kitten', the headline will read."

. . . it's a bar with a kitten.
How embarrassingly twee.
West shoves the ball of yarn a little with his foot to see if the kitten will follow it.

The kitten glances at the shoe and then the face, before pouncing gracefully after the ball. He comes to a short little stop, landing on it before he looks back victoriously.

It gets its ears ruffled in greeting, with a catty grin.

"Finding your feet well enough?" he asks, as the ruffling hand (which is staying juuuuuust out of reach) is joined by another. All cats should get scritches. Even not'cats. Especially not'cats, in Yrael's opinion.
no subject
It's not complimentary, but derisive.
He shivered, stretching up against the sensation it caused.

"I'm glad. Find anything interesting yet?"

But there's a distraction.
And now there are green eyes watching the kitten and the yarn with a curious interest. Yarn is fun, no matter if you're a kitten or a leopard.
Just ignore the fact that she smells of demon bunny blood.

There's no wave of fear, because he knows he's still at the core all but indestructible....but the difference is annoying, especially after his earlier encounter.
Perhaps this hadn't been the most brilliant idea.
Edward kitten mewed.

Her head tilts slightly and she gives an rumbling, "Mrrrrw?" in answer.
One paw reaches out towards the kitten and the yarn. Though for all the slowness she moves with, it only nudges the yarn softly.
no subject
The differences are keeping a little more grounded this time.
He nudged the ball back with his nose.
no subject
There's amusement in the green eyes. The movement is about human slow this time when she nudges the yarn again with her paw.
It's a fun, but simple game?

This place and the cats, honestly; he's glad he's at least not allergic to them. "New?"
It might answer back. One never knows in Milliways.

Charlie gives a quiet chuckle at the kitten, shaking his head. "It's already dead, you can't kill it, you know."
no subject
He thinks through the rolling attack stop of the yarn ball. There were a few things quite dead, still sentient, that could be killed even here.
The yarn is districting though and he peeks up over it once it's been thoroughly subdued.

There's a thing, you see, with Teddy and cats. Sometimes he turns into one--today, however, is not one of those days. He can, however, watch the cat. Right?

Edward!Kitten wandered with reluctant curiosity around hte purple mound of rolled string. He sniffed it lightly, nudging it with his nose. Which meant it rolled back into him. Which even expecting it (equal and opposite force) he startled back, batting it.
It has the indeciency to bounce away.
He followed. Of course.
