It's earlier in the morning than you think, for some people. At the Academy, they haven't even sounded reveille yet.

Enzo is cradling a steaming mug of Cocoa in his hands. He's pulled an armchair as close to the fireplace as possible and is staring morosely at the fish.

Sometimes, you don't want your brain functioning at optimal.

Have a slightly concerned alien experiment boy, Enzo!

"Are you all right?"

Bzuh? Enzo looks up, a bit blearily. Between fatigue, the heat, and that fact that it's been rather a while, it takes him a moment to connect face to name.

"...Luke?"

"Yes," he says. And then, because repeat performances are always nice: "Are you all right?"

A worried Luke is a fearsome thing indeed.

Or something.

Sag. "Yeah. No. I will be."

"What happened?"

"Are you okay Enzo?"

Carlotta peers down at him.

"Are you trying to get your head to catch fire?"

[a1enzo]

He glances up, groggily.

"No. Tryin' to stop my brain."

"Why?"

She crouches down to look up at him. "What's wrong?"

Enzo swallows; his mouth is suddenly dry, and he takes a large gulp of Cocoa.

"Had a nightmare. It's... I used to have it a lot, but not anymore, and now it's back and it's worse. Maybe if I can't think..."

Maybe then he can risk sleeping.

She gives him a sudden hug.

"I had one too."

"You ok, Enzo?"

"Hi, Bonzo." Sigh. "I will be. I think."

"What's wrong?"

"I had a... really bad dream."

"Want to talk about it?" Bonzo looks rather sympathetic to Enzo; whatever's wrong, he probably needs someone to talk to.

When the Bar pulls AndrAIa in at an ungodly our of the early morning, it's by pure happenstance that she spots a flash of green by the fire as she turns around to leave.

Moments after, Enzo has a very concerned looking Game sprite arriving at his side.

"Enzo, are you alright?"

She ought to recognize his expression. On Matrix, it would be accompanied by a stiff drink or five.

This Enzo's not old enough to drink, so he's making do with some selective climate control.

"AndrAIa?" He looks up at her despairingly. "I had a bad dream."

The Game sprite promptly perches herself on one of the arms of the chair, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

"Did you want to talk about it?"

He leans against her; his mug wobbles precariously. "It was the Twin City."

"Oh, Sprout..."

This revelation causes the Game sprite to hug him a bit tighter.

Laini's first reason for approaching the fireplace?

To chuck in a particularly weighty hard-copy edition of the Yellow Pages.

But after seeing Enzo, that can wait for while.

The yellow pages goes thud on the floor, and Laini takes a seat on the arm of his chair.

"Hey, sweetie. Not feeling so well?"

[a1enzo]

"Hi, Laini. 'Mnot sick. Can't get sick. Not from hardly anything."

What he does sound, and look, is dead tired and possibly even drunk.

"'Well' doesn't always have to do with overall health." She shrugs, then gives him a faint smile.

"But good to hear that at least- the not being sick part." Laini waves a hand in the air.

"Need more hot chocolate, though?"

"Yeah. Really hot."

Several seconds later, he remembers to add, "Please."

"Got it." Laini winks, and with being not in the mood to fight and argue with wait rats, stands up and heads off to the bar. It certainly is much faster this way, and only a couple moments later returns with a couple of cups.

Enzo's is extra hot, while Laini's hot chocolate has amaretto.

"Wasn't sure about whipped cream, as that tends to cool things off, but anyways..."
