There's a nymph perched comfortably up on one of the booth dividers, rather calmly (and relatively palely, all things considered) decked out in suitably flimsy - and jangly - Mardi Gras finery. The gauzy swathes of skirts are smoothed neatly over her lap and one knee is tugged up so that she can rest her book against it.
She smiles down at her bells in the manner that one might an old friend every so often, idly dinging one with a finger between an occasional turn of a pages.
She's getting rather used to this holiday.

She is rather older than last seen.
It is tragic.

"Hello."
It's a little quiet, but not too tentative.
She does not feel overly different, all things considered - goddessy, perhaps, but not too much different - and she is still Pomona.
Lethe does not put much stock in packaging.
no subject
"It has been a while."

There is a sigh. It is not terribly put-out, but there is some mild exasperation.
She does like clothing, generally speaking.
A grin, "For you, longer, I think."
no subject
(Her nymph bits are showing.)
With something of a sigh, "Yes. I think... it is a Bar Thing?"
no subject
(Which makes it decidedly ironic when one thinks of the meaning of the word 'nymphomaniac.')
The book closes, folds and fades into the space between her hands.
"You look very pretty though," she replies. "It suits you."
no subject
What there is of it.
no subject
Her lips quirk.
"I think of it as a challenge of sorts," she adds, tilting her chin with mock-primness. "If I do not blush spectacularly, I win."

Yes, he remembers it quite distinctly. Only - last time, she couldn't talk about it.

Though, admittedly, there are various ways she could think of that would make it more appealing. Perhaps if it were on someone else. Or had a coat over it. Or was being viewed the dark!
After a few moments of being scrutinized her eyes raise from the writing, blinking at him over the tops of the pages.
no subject
Well, it certainly is acknowledgment.

Her eyes crinkle, bright and amused, and she wiggles a set of fingers back at him, book resting back against her leg.
no subject
Why, yes! That is a greeting!
"You're wearing bells again," he notes. (And so observant, too.)
no subject
(That is a proper greeting.)
Her nose crinkles thoughtfully, legs crossing Indian-style.
"It is something of a holiday."
no subject
"Is it." He glances around him and nods. "What sort of holiday?"

Sometimes Lethe is rather factual. This is, in fact, one of those times.
A wry grin, head cocking.
"There is also something about beads and parades."

He thinks that is Lethe. Probably. But she's dressed very strangely, for her. But so are lots of people, today. But-- why is she wearing bells?
Think, think.

And there's something about being half-naked that makes people paying attention to you about a thousand times more noticeable. It's kind of helpful, actually. (This is, perhaps, why female spies where ridiculously skin-tight and revealing outfits?)
She blinks - after a moment or two - eyes rising up and away from the (slightly water-warped) pages and peering around curiously.
no subject
She still looks like Lethe. Kinda. Mostly? He's a bad judge.
"Lethe?" he asks, just to be sure.
no subject
"Hello there!"
no subject
"Hi! I--wasn't sure that was you. It's a costume day?"
no subject
She bounces down from her spot - willfully ignoring the additional musical accompaniment her hips feel like providing for her - and makes her way over to where he is seated.
"It is a thing with bells," she adds. "And - yes, costumes."
no subject
Weird. That was a whole year ago, already?
"Are--you having fun?"
no subject
Lethe would have preferred a hat and some food, all things considered.
But of course not.
"Fun?" she laughs quietly, biting her lower lip. "Well, it is not so bad now. I certainly have pleasant company, yes?"
