Usagi enters today carrying what looks to be a death ray of some sort. He stops to look around the room and then moves to seat himself on a cushion at the low table two wait-rat have thoughtfully set up for him. Usagi is grateful, for the tall tables are awkward and uncomfortable to him. "I would like tea and rice balls please," he humbly requests and the upon further thought adds, "And rice paper, wooden dowels and glue."

He sets the seeming death ray beside him on the floor, the business end pointed away from anyone. He then removes his daishō and sets them near to hand on his other side.

After a minute, the wait-rat returns with the items Usagi requested and as the tea sets, Usagi begins cutting the paper into shapes and sizing the dowels. Curious about the death ray or what he is making? Feel free to inquire.

"I've seen them flown before..." That counts as familiar. "I haven't flown one before...how do you make a kite?"

"You must first think of a kite as a sail, like on a ship," Usagi says as he picks up a sheet of paper. "You can make the kite as complex as a dragon or as simple as a fold." Here he folds the paper in half without creasing it.

"Oddly enough a kite this simple takes great skill to fly for you must coax the wind to fill the space here or it will not fly. My skill is not so great, so a build a frame to hold the shape."

"I think my skill at kite flying isn't going to be as good as yours is," Having never flown before, it's a distinct possibility. Still Tyler watches a moment, asking a wait rat for more of the same paper to try and copy what Usagi is doing. "But it looks like fun."

Usagi is actually making a pretty simple kite himself, not much more than a square frame.

"We shall see when we fly the kites. They will not be ready today however," Usagi says gluing a joint. He then catches the attention of another wait-rat. "Could I have some ink and a brush please?"

He turns back to Tyler and says, "These are too plain as they are now."

...?

Oh! Tyler gets what Usagi is saying, they're going to decorate them before they get flown! The young boy hurries to carefully mimic what Usagi just did to the joint of the kite, smiling.

Once they have their joints done and the frames complete, Usagi picks up a brush and dips it in the ink. He pauses, contemplating his kite before drawing with a stiff, yet elegant, arm the character for tranquility.

"Do you understand my writing?" Usagi has figured out his language is not the norm for the bar.

"...no, not really...what does it mean?" Tyler says, looking up at Usagi after having given the character some thought.

He does want to try painting with that brush, but polite as ever, he'll wait until Usagi says it's alright to.

"It means tranquility, something I do not find often in my world. That is strange to say for me, 'My world'," Usagi says shaking his head. He then passes the bowl of ink and brush over.

"It is a little strange at first, but sometimes it's nice, seeing other worlds." Tyler says, picking up the brush carefully, he's not as elegant as Usagi-san, but he does manage to clumsily paint a Crescent moon on his kite. "I know it was kinda weird at first, for the first few months I visited here..."

"Tell me Tyler," Usagi says meeting Tyler's eye, "Does your world have anything like this?" He rests his left hand lightly on the Death Ray, almost as if he's afraid of it.

...

"I've seen something like before..."

"On your world?" Usagi presses.

"Yes..and on another world too." Just for reference's sake.

"A few years ago, back when my Lord Mifune was alive, I had a strange adventure. If the people I met are to be believed, I traveled in time to the future of my world. They gave me this weapon and while this weapon saved my life, I hid it. It's destructive power unleashed in my world would be terrible. I can not allow that. Would you take it from me? I understand this is a terrible burden but if such exists on your world already, it is not as large a burden as it is in mine."

... Blink. There's a long pause, and one can tell that this young boy is giving the request serious thought.

"I know a place where I could take it to, to keep it from destroying things." Tyler finally replies, looking very solemn. "I'll take it there as soon as I get home."

It's the boys solemnity which impresses Usagi that he can trust Tyler.

"I can not thank you enough Tyler-san. If even my blade can assist you, you have but ask."

"Thank you, Mr. Usagi." Tyler replies, "I'll remember that if I'm ever in trouble."
