[[OOM:Back home Ben and Johnny finish up some odd spring cleaning.]]

Ben looks surprised when he steps into Milliways today, this being the first time the bar has nabbed him from a different location. He stands at the entrance only briefly however and then walks to bar to ask for a Sharpy and paper. Once these are received, he retires to a table to write a notice. He actually writes a couple of different ones on note paper (which bar thoughtfully provided without his asking) before he posts the following sign to the notice board:

Do you consider yourself a Super Hero or wish you could be?
Wanted: Teachers and students for training purposes on my home world.
Nothing fancy, more like a game of pick up football than playing the NFL.
Any curious folks, look for Ben Grimm.
(I'm the guy made of orange rocks if we haven't met.)

Ben then heads back to bar to return the Sharpy and get a pitcher of beer to settle in to wait for any takers.

The moment Tyler spotted the notice on the board, he started scanning the bar, not that it would've been hard to see the guy.

"...what kind of training would there be?"

After spending several months Bound up in the Bar, he's kinda worried that his next superhero class is going to end up with him splated on the side of a building. And if it isn't anything especially dangerous, or radioactive, he could practice his heroing skills!

"Ta be honest, I'm not really sure. I was plannin' on seein' who was interested and go from there. What ever it ends up bein' it won't be too complicated, somethin' like capture the flag wit' powers," Ben replies casually as he looks Tyler over.

Ben doubt the kid has powers, he seems too young, but then again, Franklin was about the same age when he had his powers. Those Power kids are pretty young too.

"You got powers kid?"

The kid starts to open his mouth, because to be blunt, Tyler has a lot of trouble outright lying about things. He'll avoid subjects, and not give whole answers, but really, he's never outright lied, especially to a superhero.

"Oh, and a piece of advice, kid?" says Kit as she stands to leave. "Let people think you have superpowers. Adds to the mystique."

So, for about five seconds, the kid looks conflicted, before actually disappearing.

"Okay you've convinced me," Ben says after he blinks a couple of times. He then dips a finger into his beer and flicks it to where Tyler was. "Pop quiz time."

Does the kid know to move away from where you where if you turn invisible? Or is the kid a teleporter? Ben hopes the kid isn't a teleporter, he hates talking to air when there is no one there.

We're not certain if Ben can hear it over the noise of the rest of the bar, but there is the faint sound of little sneakers doing a quick sidestep. Also, he can't see the look that Tyler is giving him before he appears again, just a little distance away.

"...what're the questions?"

"Ya passed kid," Ben replies with a grin. "Somethin' I learned from a team mate, if ya turn invisible don't stay in the same place. Do folks in yer world get powers so young often?"

"They do if their parents have powers." Tyler replies sitting down, feeling only a little guilty about having to lie right now. "I know that Darkhammer and Battle Axe's kid is only 3, but he managed to punch a car 40 feet."

Well to be truthful Tyler hasn't out right said he had powers, he's letting Ben assume.

"Wow. In my world, people don't usually develop powers until they're in their teens. I know of a couple 'a exceptions though. That's why I asked. You guys have problems with kids runnin' amok or anythin'? Irresponsible use of powers I mean?"

"Kinda, but not in families with powers." Tyler replies. "I go to one school for kids with superpowers, it's like a regular elementary school, but there're other afterschool courses for the kids with powers."

There is someone very late Eyeing the poster, but not yet sure whether or not to ask about it or whatever.

Ben spots the kid reading the sign and is sure he's seen the kid hanging out with Kate, Billy and Teddy. He calls over a wait-rat and orders a plate of Oreo cookies.

Once they arrive and if he manages to catch the certain someone's eye, he'll gesture to invite him over to share the plate. One thing Ben knows about speedsters, calories are always welcome.

"Hey," Ben replies. "Don't think we've officially met, I'm Ben Grimm. You're friends wit' Kate an' Billy an' Teddy right?"

Except he's, y'know, not, but close enough.

Ben grew up on Yancy Street and it's still a part of him. He recognizes Jay is hiding something and doesn't trust Ben for whatever reason. Nothing new as far as Ben is concerned but he'll let it go.

"If yer interested in workin' wit' me I'm plannin' on startin' tomorrow if I get enough interest. I got nothin' big or formal in mind, just playin' around."

"It'll be in my world. I've got an old clothing factory an' a couple of warehouses I bought. They're away from any folks who might get hurt if anythin' goes wrong. I've invited Hawkeye an' her friends to train also."

Ben figures it might help the kids nerves if he mentioned some friends.

Charlie spots the sign. And then looks for the pile of orange rocks.

"Hello, Ben. I saw your help wanted. Tell me more?"

"Well ta be honest I don't really have a plan," Ben says as he gestures for Charlie to join him. "I think you've heard about how there's a law that says folks 're supposed to register wit' the government if they got powers in my world right?"

"Billy and Teddy filled me in," he says with the appropriate supply of distaste.

"Well the basic idea that kids need training is a good one and I hope to give an alternative to the military training that's goin' on. Plus I'm not checkin' cards. Who ever shows up gets ta train. This may cause problems wit' the powers that be so if stuff goes down, you need to get back to Milliways if ya come.

"I don't expect any trouble, the place I bought is an abandoned factory and pretty far from any city center. But I'm not gonna sugar coat any possible trouble."

"That's fair. I don't mind a little risk as long as I know about it. And I will gladly avoid being arrested without a proper ID." Or a face. "I need to get back here after a couple of days anyway since the dead have limits." He's not looking to get amnesia the way Teja did.

"It shouldn't take more than a couple o' hours I imagine," Ben says. "If that really. I guess at this point I'm just thinking of a game of capture the flag. I've never done any thing like this so I'm just gonna hope for the best ya know?"

"As sort of an introductory workout, to see who can or can't do what?" Both students and teachers. "That could work.

"If it matters, I have a little experience training some heroes, but not teens."

"That's more than what I got. Best I can say fer myself is some time in a wrestlin' ring with the UCWF. I would appreciate the help. Is tomorrow good fer ya? At this point I got you, a grade school kid named Tyler who disappears an' a teenager who goes by Jay an' is super fast. I don't know who'll show up from my world but I've invited Hawkeye and her friends. They go by the Young Avengers."
