"That's perfect."
He closed the shirt box sitting on the bar.
Edward might be distracted, but he didn't forget.
He picked up a pen, contemplating the note card.
One order of botherable, with a side of amiable.
It's been a good day for Edward.

Things are better. Things are finally getting better. Her thoughts broadcast as much.
"Edward!"

"Slowpoke," Jenny answers, a smile still on her face. "I found her."

"Bart's running again. Bet you he can beat you in a race now."

"And everything else?"

Jenny, caught up in bragging about her boyfriend, doesn't notice.
"What's everything else?"
no subject
"How is everything else?" He clarified, making sure to keep his tone even.

"Good," she answers with a grin. "Really good. Going to get training in Ben's superhero camp."

The note card is simple and classic, just a white square with rounded edges and a relief raised boarder in a creme shade just off from the main stock paper.
The words are simple--
Forever pampered and untried
--from a early 1900's poem about Cassandra.

He's done enough (and is still doing) lately that it makes it worth not teasing her. Being grateful (and he is grateful to have her on his side no matter how hard he pushes her away or denies what she's said or what she wants) is something he can give with each of them without changing what is.
Instead, after she has kissed his cheek, he starts with, "I hear you and Jasper have been forbidden to touch the Mercedes."
