Bertie is in an excellent mood.

For one thing, Jeeves has worked a bloody miracle, and his latest matrimonial scare has been most satisfactorily resolved in a way that didn't involve Bertie ending up at, or indeed anywhere near, a nuptial altar.

For another thing, he's discovered the piano.

This may or may not be good news for the other patrons of Milliways. Either way, there's a Wooster, dressed for dinner, sitting at the piano, playing rather enthusiastically. He's no Cab Calloway, but he does his best.

He could, perhaps, use a little help with the call and response bits.

"This is Sammy, he's an ape." Carlotta says. "Sammy, say hello!"

Sammy raises his hat, solumnly.

"Hello, Sammy," Bertie says, bemused.

"And how did you two...er...meet?"

[fiery_ring]

"We work in the same circus." Carlotta says, standing on her hands.

"You should come, we're running every night."

[the_old_bean]

"Ah, I see. You're a circus performer. Well, that explains things."

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta nods.

"It's simply super fun."

[the_old_bean]

"I'd imagine so," Bertie says, smiling. "Every child wants to run off and join the circus at some point. You actually did."

[fiery_ring]

"No, I was born there." Carlotta says, twirling her hair around her fingers.

[the_old_bean]

"You were born at the circus? Don't suppose you've ever had the urge to run away to the real world?"

[fiery_ring]

"No, that would boooring."

[the_old_bean]

"Yes, well... that was rather a joke, you see. Because most children dream of running away to the circus and...oh, never mind."

No one has ever told Bertie that jokes aren't funny if you have to explain them.

"Oh, sorry." Carlotta says.

Sammy climbs down and starts to play 'Three blind mice' on the piano solumnly.
