There's a vaguely arachnoid robot, about six inches tall and a foot in diameter, spidering happily down the hallway into the bar.

He smiles broadly.

"Well that's one heck of a start. What's next after you're done with that?"

"I will explore the environs. And possibly meet more people."

[mnt_mike]

"I'm assuming you're weather proof?"

[stilljustandrew]

A brief, startled pause.

"I do not know."

The mobile shifts from foot to foot to foot, examining itself.

[mnt_mike]

"Bar? Think we can equip Baby here with a rain coat...just in case?"

But of course! The lake is lovely, and should be seen, regardless of the Scottish weather.

[stilljustandrew]

A tiny, perfectly transparent poncho materializes on the bartop.

The mobile lifts it gingerly with one spidery leg, and then carefully eases under it.

"And this darling ensemble is from our Spring collection. Notice the fine craftsmanship in the stitching. How it flows. How it says, No silly storm cloud is going to rain on my holiday fun!"

It's possible Mike has been sniffing paint fumes again.

The mobile glances up at Mike through the plastic.

"It is intended to communicate?"

[mnt_mike]

Only that my Barman was deprived of oxygen during the hatching process.

"Hey now! I was just trying to be funny, that's just down right mean!"

[stilljustandrew]

The little arachnoid's glance is now going back and forth between Bar and Barman, and something about its movement looks oddly uncertain.

"It was a joke," she guesses, tentatively.

[mnt_mike]

"Well, it was supposed to be a joke," Mike says glumly.

Only jokes are usually funny, and are not supposed to confuse the intended audience.

"Everyone's a critic."

Smug Bar is Smug.

"I am not good with jokes," Baby confesses.

See, Mike? It isn't your fault!

[mnt_mike]

"You're not alone, lots of people here aren't good with jokes. Or...maybe they're just not good with my jokes," he says with a bit of a shrug. "Either way, you should be good to go for all outside endeavors...provided there's no swimming."

Very seriously: "I should determine whether this unit can tolerate aquatic conditions. It would be useful."

[mnt_mike]

"Is there a way to do that without like...shorting yourself out?"

[stilljustandrew]

"I do not know."

The mobile bobs in thought.

"If the mobile shorted out, presumably someone could repair it? I would be unharmed."

[mnt_mike]

That's something Mike hadn't considered.

"Like...extra lives in a video game. Huh...cool!"

[stilljustandrew]

"...Possibly?"

Baby is not up on video games.

[mnt_mike]

"You've played video games....yes?"

Please say yes.

[stilljustandrew]

"No," she says. And adds, a bit uncertainly: "Andrew Wells plays many video games."

[mnt_mike]

Gears begin to turn in Mike's head.
Dangerous gears.

"You know...there's this whole video game that requires one to have legs. Think you'd be interested?"

[stilljustandrew]

The arachnoid tilts its head at him, and there is a faint whir.

"How many legs are required?"

[mnt_mike]

"Usually just two, so...right off the bat you've got the advantage!"

Yes, Mike is going to set Mobile!Baby up with Dance Dance Revolution.

[stilljustandrew]

LET ALL MILLIWAYS BEWARE.

"I would like to see."

[mnt_mike]

"Bar? Think you could...you know?"

A few seconds later two DDR pads appear on the floor. One a normal size, and another...a touch larger.

While Mike blinks in confusion, Bar transforms.
