Teja is sitting in a booth, having waffles for breakfast.

Somebody had been killed last night, in the woods; Teja had been out there, and seen it in passing: upset people, security, blood, the like. It was an unpleasant somebody, and it had not been the night of the full moon. So, Teja ponders, the somebody had, most likely, been murdered and butchered by one that was extremely angry.

If someone was going around killing those that were unpleasant in a bloody manner, could they not have tried their luck on Ramon Salazar?

Also, he is keeping an eye on the door, wondering if the influx of people from Jason's world will continue. Perhaps some barrier has broken, and they all can come in now? Hopefully, Milliways will at least be spared the unpleasant woman that some of them have spoken about. But if someone is going around killing those that are unpleasant...

"You don't like waffles!" Teja says, startled out of his thoughts by a pink feline nose sniffing his breakfast. Count looks at him, innocent as only a cat may look.

Carlotta is sitting on the beams above him, watching.

"No, Count, you really don't like them!" Teja says, touching his finger to the pink feline nose.

Carlotta gives an amused snort.

[ostro_goth]

Teja looks up.

"Carlotta!" he says. "How are you?"

[fiery_ring]

"I'm okay." Carlotta says, though in reality she has a lot on her mind. "How are you?"

[ostro_goth]

"A man was murdered last night," Teja says, "and many from Jason's world have been coming here."

[fiery_ring]

Carlotta stares, horrified, and drops down.

"Murdered?! Here?!"

[ostro_goth]

"Outside, in the woods," Teja says. "I was outside, and saw security, and upset people, in passing. It was an unpleasant man that was killed."

[fiery_ring]

"Should I not go out there?"

[ostro_goth]

"I know not whether they have taken the body away yet," Teja says.

[fiery_ring]

"I mean is the murderer still out there?"

[ostro_goth]

"He may have come in by now," Teja says. "Or she -- I think one would have heard, were it known who it was."

[fiery_ring]

"Do you think the rest of us are in danger?"

The young woman on a nearby table pipes in. "Cats like whatever a human seem to like." Jordan is relaxing with breakfast too, in jeans and t-shirt, barefoot.

And wearing her mysterious 'gauntlet'.

"Cats do not like sweet things," Teja says. "Or are not supposed to. Greetings!"

People wearing gauntlets -- indeed, not the strangest thing that was ever seen in Milliways.

People wearing ONE gauntlet, just her left hand and forearm, that should be even stranger. "But you are paying attention to it, so your cat is interested too." It is pure cat-logic.

"He is being contrary," Teja says. "But that is his nature."

[evilontheloose]

"Exactly. You can not convince him he does not like waffles." There, that is a smirk.

[ostro_goth]

Teja picks up the young cat, and ruffles his fur. The cat looks a bit dubious, like a teen-ager kissed by his mother where is friends can see; but when Teja starts scritching under the chin, the little feline melts into a puddle of furry goo in the Goth's callused hands.

"He is a cat," Teja states.

"Yes." She watches master and pet for a bit, before speaking up. "Jordan Kennedy."

[ostro_goth]

"One assumes that is your name, and not the river in Palestine?" Teja says.

[evilontheloose]

"Yes, my name. The river is not named 'Kennedy'..." But she smiles too.

[ostro_goth]

"No," Teja says. "I know not what a Kennedy is, otherwise; but I am a dead Ostrogoth, and need not know everything from the future."

[evilontheloose]

"Dead?" It seems nobody told her about the dead of Milliways.

[ostro_goth]

"Dead," Teja says. "It means 'No longer alive, as one's body was damaged in a way that does not support life'," he adds, helpfully. "In my case, it happened in battle; it was a spear that pierced my lung, so I was drowned in my own blood."
