Forge post
It's still early, but in the morning light, the sound of hammer on anvil is ringing out from the forge.
Teja, after all, is Teja; and in case of any trouble, he starts making blades. There is much trouble among those dear to him, now, and Teja is making a dagger -- fine and thin, of folded steel, pliable and deadly.
The cats are outside, chasing a snarling demonic rabbit between them.-

He raises an eyebrow at Teja setting all his tools down, and sits back to watch him. "What are you up to?"

Pause.
"Or was, before the magic of this place got at him."
Having dried himself off, Teja goes to the door and takes his belt and belt-pouch from a hook; and from the pouch, he gets a little leather bag that he hands to Charlie.
"Speaking of his gift to his sweet godling, I was reminded that I still have something for you that I made, from jewels that I received as part of a payment."
Inside, there is a corkscrew-shaped piece of jewellery for Charlie's navel piercing, made of white gold, and with a small diamond at one end.

That would be too priceless. "Maybe he found someone as jaded as he is, to play with? You said a godling, maybe he hooked up with the irritating purple one," he says, half-laughing. He accepts the bag, and slides a tiny corkscrew out of it, and smiles.
"It's beautiful."

Pause.
"And no, it is a Greek godling that Dorian Gray has taken up with: - the fabled Ganymede, cup-bearer of the gods, and catamite of Zeus. He is not a full god with a duty like Demeters, but a smaller immortal: - hence, a godling."

He slides the silver corkscrew out, and the new one in, putting the bag and the spare in his pocket. "It sounds very nice...do you have yours in?" he asks, as he screws the end ball in.
"Dorian Gray and Ganymede. Well they should be pretty together, if nothing else."
no subject
Pause.
"And no, I do not wear mine now, as I was waiting to give you yours first, and not spoil the surprise; but we can put it in, now that you have yours?"
no subject
Charlie likes the new one, the white gold is much brighter than the silver he had in before, against his stomach. And he's starting to tan, being outside in the summer sun. "I wonder how they'll manage being a couple, if they're both immortal. Maybe it's open."
no subject
"Perhaps open to others, indeed," he says, "or open-ended: - perhaps they are not trying for the future, just for now. 'Now' would be long, for an immortal, and the future endless."
Pause, while he fetches his own piece from a little box, on the shelf above the workbench: it is a captive bead ring, of white gold also, with the dragon diamond set into the bead part.
"It looks lovely upon your skin," he says to Charlie. "It is so lovely to see one's gift upon the body of the beloved; no matter what the symbolism of collars, part of their pleasure would be simply that."
no subject
"Is your piercing healing up alright?"
no subject
Pause.
"And yes, it is -- see! It does not hurt any longer, unless pulled wrong; and most of the time, it is pulled just right."
no subject
He tugs just a little at the ring in his nipple, amused at the reaction.

He is still standing there, the top of the forge apron hanging down, and his shimmering new ring in his nipple.

"One of these days, I will wish to try that which you have done to me."
