(no subject)

All the times before when Joris has arrived at Milliways, he's usually been right in the middle of some sort of fight or other situation. The door here has more than likely saved his life no few times by appearing right as needed- even if he never looked for it.

This time is different.

This time, Joris slips through the front door into Milliways, and closes it behind him with a relieved sigh. He doesn't look like he was in the middle of any sort of fight, as for once, the young teen is not in his white uniform*, but simply in jeans and a t-shirt. But he certainly looks happier to be in Milliways than he ever has before.

Hey, Joris has dealt with demons. He knows what to do when confronted by them- at least, for the most part..

However, he has no clue on how to deal with a bridezilla in the making. And sometimes, a quick retreat is the smartest move anyone can make, particularly if you gave said bridezilla the answer she was not looking for.

"... but they're both red." He simply states, still baffled.

*'Not in uniform' does not mean unarmed, or unprepared.

There's a girl with her auburn hair tied up in a bandanna, bringing a large tray of freshly-baked and exceedingly fragrant cinnamon rolls out into the bar. The timing is such that she catches the last of his bemused statement.

"What're both red?"

The tray, smelling strongly of home-made dough, roasted walnuts, cinnamon and warm, gooey icing, is set down.

The girl's look is quizzical.

Then it clears. "A red wedding dress?" She remembers the fiasco the last time one of the coffeehouse's waitresses got married.

The cake, at least, had been phenomenal, Sunshine is proud to say.

"Weddings tend to be crazy," says the baker with no real plans of ever marrying her long-time boyfriend.

It might happen, but either she or Mel would have to drastically change their lives for it to be possible.

Joris might find it increasingly hard to keep from eyeing the cinnamon rolls, since one of the Big-As-Your-Head desserts is being offered to him on a plate, icing still running thick over it.

He was eyeing her food. It must mean he wants to eat it. And if he wants to eat Sunshine's food, he has automatically gotten on her good side.

"No, I was offering you this to taunt you," she says, dry, handing him the plate with its warm, sticky roll on it.

And a handful of napkins, because Rae is kind like that, and knows the effects her cooking has on people.

"No problem," she grins. "And no, I'm not a waitress here. But I am the Head Baker for Charlie's Coffeehouse back home. Going on eight or nine years now."

Rae chuckles. "No, Charlie's my stepfather. He's the owner and manager of the coffeehouse. I'm just the queen of the bakery."

"I'm Rae, Rae Seddon."
