(no subject)

The patch on the back (and front) of Beckett's bulletproof vest announces her occupation loud and clear as she strides in through an appearing door with crowd in tow.

Right now, her goal is simple, and since she's in cop mode, there's a certain single-mindedness that she seems to have taken on. Her steps are confident and sure as she enters, her voice loud and clear as she speaks.

There's only one thing that matters right now, and that's making sure Boo gets some much-needed medical attention.

"Is there a doctor here? We need a doctor."

Kate's close behind Beckett, cradling an underweight, filthy Boo in her arms as the toddler sniffles into Kate's shoulder.

Stroking Boo's matted hair with one hand, she glances around the bar, praying there's a doctor here or in the infirmary; not only does Boo need attention, but Nathan and Matrix have been bleeding since they left Hell Hall.

Much of that bleeding has stemmed since he'd been hit and given on-the-spot treatment, but it doesn't take much to get it started again.

Rubbing at it will do that.

Not for the novelty of being able to bleed but because his head still hurts whenever he moves it.

Sooner this gets looked at the better. He has no plans to stay very long, not when he wants to get back to his wife's side.

Rabastan, on the other hand, has fallen behind a little. Here in Milliways there are doctors and nurses and other healers. Here he can be assured that whatever Boo needs will be given to her, and that he'll get to see her very soon, once visitors are allowed.

It will give him time to either get or make a gift for her to cheer her up with.

For now, his stomach is growling, and, since the worst of his injuries is a sore foot and spell damage [nothing too severe that he can't magic away], he'll be moseying off to get something to eat.

Bill stays close to Kate and Boo.

As far as injuries go he's doing alright, he's sore and possibly bruised with a few scratches from the dogs, but nothing he's going to worry about until Boo and the others are taken care of.

He looks around to see if anyone answers Beckett's call.

Nathan had his hand against his left arm to staunch the blood flow. It was only a deep graze, probably just needed a stitch or two. In any event, Boo needed attention first. She was just a kid and in bad shape. He knew he could wait.

After all, it wasn't like he hasn't had worse.

"Where the hell are they?" He did growl a little in passing as he glanced around, his gravelly voice being more prominent in his anger.

Cuddy's head immediately snaps up at the mention of a doctor, and right away, she's on her feet, heading over to the group and nodding to each of them in turn. Nathan she recognizes right off the bat, and apparently, this blood of his is actually coming from a legitimate wound this time.

"I'm a doctor. What's the problem?"

Kate steps forward.

"This is Boo, she's been held in another woman's world for -- "

Her stomach roils.

"I'm not sure how long. Weeks." She licks her lips. "And these two," she says, turning to nod toward Nathan and Matrix, "are a little banged up. Could you -- do you have access to the infirmary?"

[identity profile] gotaheadstart.livejournal.com 2009-07-28 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Absolutely," Cuddy says, looking down at the girl huddled up in Kate's arms.

Her access is relatively new, and she hasn't had a lot of opportunities to volunteer her time there, but now seems as good a time as any to start.

"All of you," she adds, nodding towards the men, "let's go."

Matrix doesn't look like he wants to follow.

Never did he cooperate willingly with those who told him to enter a hospital [he's only a willing patient when he's unconscious] and he's not starting now.

"I just got hit on the head," he says in his "no big deal" tone. "Just tell me what it needs so I can look after it myself."

He's one of those difficult patients...

From what Cuddy can see, there doesn't seem to be any brain damage or visible signs of concussion, and he does appear to be a tougher breed of man.

But there's still the pressing matter of Boo, and she's not about to stand around and waste time debating.

"Alright. If you start to fall drowsy, you need to get yourself to the infirmary. It may be a sign of concussion. The rest of you, follow me."

She proceeds to lead the group to the infirmary (http://community.livejournal.com/ways_infirmary/78063.html).
