Suresh really doesn't know Elle's father like she does.

This wasn't a surprise for her. It doesn't mean she was in any less a foul mood in the time after their meeting, as she stalked through the halls of the Facility, more acutely aware of her confinement than she could ever remember being before.

For whatever that was worth.

The appearance of the bar when she returns to her room is enough to slow her pace, at least, though it doesn't stop her from slamming the door. When she's settled on a stool, the Bar greets her with one of Bela's books.

She snatches it up without complaint.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

"It will keep people from getting sick."

Beat.

"I do not know if there is a cure."

But pretty soon she'll find out!

She frowns.

"Do you get sick?"

"No," X says promptly.

"I do not."

It's true, at least as far as she knows.

"So it... can't get you sick?"

Maybe?

"I do not think so."

Here is where she frowns very slightly.

"I will ask Logan."

She considers this for a moment.

"You should probably just... not get it."

"I will be careful," X says.

It's kind of like a promise.

"But it is better to be prepared."

Her mouth twists, but she only asks, "Are you going soon?"

"Tomorrow," X says.

And --

"I will be back."

It is kind of annoying to be on the other side of this. But she has to do the same for X, doesn't she?

"I know."

"And I will not be sick."

That is --

Well. That is all she can think of to say about that.

"Yeah."

She lets her eyes fall to the bar for a moment.

"Do you know anything else about..."

Elle makes a vague gesture toward the door to the lake.

"I know many people who did not do it," X offers.

"It is useful."

And maybe if Tom and Ned's idea pans out --

"Yeah."

Beat.

"But there's more of those."

It seems like a problem.

"There is a finite list of suspects," X offers.

It's -- important?

"So... do you have some people you think did it?" she asks, trying to piece this out.

"Yes," X says.

And that seems to be it.

Mostly.

If it's not her, Sylar, or Peter Petrelli, and involves something as simple as neck-snapping, Elle's not terribly interested in asking 'who.'

So she shifts slightly in her seat, eyes flickering down to the book. It's the first she's thought about it since X had come over.

Resting her head in her hand, with her eyes still on the book, "I might do another job with Bela."

X tilts her head slightly, studying Elle.

It's not that she's worried, but --

"There will be demons?"

Elle shrugs her right shoulder.

"Bela said she doesn't see them that much."

Once she's looked up to X again: "And there's other stuff."

X nods.

"I know."

Beat.

"She is retrieving an object?"

"She can't leave right now," Elle answers, glancing to the door.

X frowns.

"The job is here?"

"No."

Beat. "I think she can leave again some time."

But Elle has never been Bound before.

"So you are waiting."

X absorbs that, studying Elle again.

Then --

"Okay."

She will remember.
