It wasn't his intention to look at the Classifieds. It never is. It somehow just happens, and Jasper finds himself staring at the multitude of homes for sale whenever he picks up The Seattle Times.
He has no intention of leaving the Cullens, too many factors against it. Yet, the thought is always there, in the back of his mind. Of Alice, him, and a place of their own.
And one listing has him particularly enthralled. It has the acreage, the woods, the room...
A red sharpie appears on the counter and Jasper quirks his lips, circling the listing with it.
He may not sleep, but he can dream.

"I'll take that as a compliment."
There are the barest hints of exhaustion pulling at her features. She's had a few rough nights, recently. And the worry over her situation with Ramon, and his threats against Kate Warner and Bill Pardy, is ever present in her mind. But today has been a good day.
"'Course, I ain't sure how bad off I looked when we first met," she chortles.
Skinnier, for sure. Half-starved and disconnected.

"But, now, well..." He wisely breaks off with a clearing of his throat. "What I mean to ask is, how have you been?"
no subject
"No, s'all right," she assures him. "I know, I'm kinda all over the place. Don't you worry none about it.
"I've been all right, all things considered. Still haven't been out for any adventures in other worlds, though."

Miss Bar provides an iced tea (with a lime green bendy straw) and a plate of fried paradoxes, which Kate murmurs a 'thank you' for and then offers to share the food with Jasper.
"So, you're lookin' to relocate?"

He shrugs. "I don't know, lots of factors. We're happy where we are, with the family. Alice, in some ways, she needs 'em still. And I do too. It's just... It's hard to be a husband there."
no subject
"I see."
She thinks she does, at least.
"I take it you're livin' near your wife's father? Or maybe brother?"

"Good Evening." Amanda greets the stranger with some familiar features.

"Evenin', Ma'am," Jasper greets quietly though no less polite than the woman's own.

"I'm Amanda" she offers him her hand, "It's been a while since anyone has called me a Ma'am."

"Would you care for some company?" Amanda is just being her social self.

"Thank you." she takes a seat, "Do you mind if I ask where and when you are from?" she quickly adds honestly, "I am always curious about the other patrons here."

And yet Amanda still doesn't know that they are vampires (not that she would mind).
